Engram is a very clearly defined thing: It’s a moment of pain and unconsciousness (the pain and unconsciousness can be of an intense nature, or not so much). The specific way the mind reacts was discovered by L. Ron Hubbard and all his findings released the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. Truly the full description of engrams can be found in the book, but I will share some examples and stories of people’s experience with engrams.
Some very heavy engrams can form when a person is under general anesthesia, as the anesthesia is basically a poison, the body is under pain, even if you do not feel the pain actively. I had a friend of mine tell me that he had overcome a stutter that he had after several Dianetics sessions (where you relieve the force of engrams). He had explained that he discovered that when he was undergoing an operation, there was a very popular Russian song that the chorus said “Stop! Stop! Stop!” playing while he was under… and when he discovered that and removed the harmful power of the engram, he miraculously stopped stuttering — as he had been stuttering regularly after that operation and didn’t know they were related.
You can see in other success stories that people overcome irrational fears using Dianetics auditing, and this is the effect of reducing engrams.
You are able to find and relieve yourself of the power of engrams through counseling from a person called an Auditor, one who listens. Anyone can train to become and auditor. It’s a non-drug type of counseling developed by Mr. Hubbard with exact procedures. Many people learn to audit by starting in a Dianetics Seminar where you are trained in the basics over a weekend, and many people report really great results.
Everyone has had pain in their lives and everyone has received engrams. They are harmful memories that hold us back in life one way or another. You do not forget your memories, you simply remove the power they have on you.
When I read about the effects they could have on me, I immediately found a place I could receiving auditing, and wow, did it have a massive change in my life. Removing a single engram can be more therapeutic than years and years of whatever psychology can think up to tell you to feel better.
