Guys, if you’re like me, when you saw The One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, you would have been sure that such terrible practices would have been outlawed. However, ECT HAS NOT BEEN BANNED. In fact, the FDA moved it from a Schedule III treatment (dangerous) to a Schedule II treatment (reportedly “safe”).
What is shocking is how when you read this, it reads out of a horror movie where the victims are ignored and slaughtered while the assassin is laughing. In the government’s release of the reclassification of ECT into Schedule II, they cite 3,000+ Comments received, (They DO NOT STATE HOW MANY WERE AGAINST AND HOW MANY FOR) instead they say “many comments” (which means nothing could have been 10%) supported the re—-classification, including 400 ARTICLES — NOT the commentary of the hundreds of people that showed up to the hearing saying their loved ones lost their memory, or killed themselves, after receiving ECT, but NO they ignored those comments (NO ONE showed up in-person to favor ECT in the 2015 panel by the FDA) and further the panel VOTED NOT TO RECLASSIFY ECT to a schedule II. However, the FDA Chair Dr. Scott Gottlieb chose to delay, and instead go AGAINST the recommendations of the FDA Panel NOT to reclassify ECT, and went ahead and did it anyway.
After he finished his atrocious tenure as the FDA Chair (where he sold his soul to the devil to shock children (13+) literally to the point where their lives would end shortly after ECT) he went to work of course for companies such as Pfizer.
So yes, the Head of the FDA (which is supposed to regulate Big Pharma, instead literally is working FOR Big Pharma. This is the ultimate shill, pretending to be protecting customers as the FDA Chair, while actually you can see that he literally is defending and explaining away Big Pharma’s choices in the whole spectrum casting doubt on side effects as an authority. Is the job of the FDA to protect consumers or to protect the companies out to profit in spite of problems with drugs?
