Often people liken Scientology auditors to therapists or counselors… and there are some similarities — but a HUGE difference is that auditors LISTEN, they do not tell you what your problem is, they help you by asking the right questions so you can discover answers for yourself.

Psychologists tell you what is wrong with you (by labeling, prescribing, giving diagnoses that are literally invented), but a Scientology Auditor will focus on what is right with you, and get you to see what is right with you.

There are a few types of Auditing, the largest categories are Objective auditing and Subjective auditing. Objective auditing is focused on getting in better communication with the physical universe and into the present. Subject auditing has to do with your inner thoughts, the past and such.

Subjective auditing can be Dianetics auditing, dealing with the Reactive Mind, the sole source of your aberrations. Or it can be Scientology auditing, which puts into practice the principles of Scientology, many contained in the book The Fundamentals of Thought which in the book there are several Scientology processes in it.
