Yes. The Church of Scientology has their full-fledged TV Station. The historic Sunset Boulevard studio previously belonged to KCET, and is located at 4401 West Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA. KCET Studios operated from 1912 until 2011, at which time it was sold to the Church of Scientology, and it opened Scientology Media Productions (also known as SMP) on May 28th 2016, and from there launched the Scientology Network on March 12, 2018.

This is one of the very few stations that is entirely self-funded. The Church of Scientology does not take a single dollar of ad revenue for it’s programming. There are not ads from outside advertisers, so the message is uncorrupted, and true to the Aims of Scientology.

As a long-term Scientologist, I can share with you what I believe are the best videos to watch on the Scientology Network and for what purposes.

Hearing from L. Ron Hubbard Directly

Nothing can share with you the true scripture and beliefs of Scientology like listening to the man himself, the founder, L. Ron Hubbard. Us Scientologists do not worship L. Ron Hubbard or believe him as God; this is a misunderstanding that many non-Scientologists have, when I first walked into the Church I also believed this because at the end of an event there was a cheering for Hubbard at the end. Scientologists do show gratitude for what he’s done for us.

So, listening and hearing to him is pretty much the most direct way to find out what we believe, as that’s how every Scientology member learns about the religion in the best way — from Mr. Hubbard. If you listen to these videos, you’ll have a very good grasp of how L. Ron Hubbard teaches and his viewpoints about life.

Written and Spoken by L. Ron Hubbard on Scientology TV:
Is it Possible To Be Happy?
The Trail of Discovery (Hubbard starts talking at about minute 12:10)
Various parts life (Hubbard starts talking at about 13:30)
Life as an author (Hubbard starts talking at about 13:26)

Written by L. Ron Hubbard, narrated by Scientology Media Productions, with accompanying video:
The True Story of Scientology
My Philosophy
Personal Integrity
What is Scientology?
The rest can be found on the page here, in the section, L. Ron Hubbard Library Presents.

Scientology Books on Film

There are two Scientology books that have been transformed into full Audio-Visual Masterpieces… These are Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought (FOT) and Scientology: The Problems of Work.

Both of these books include tools that I use regularly, and the Church has quietly made the entirety of the FOT book available online: Free Scientology Beginning Course. In this book you can apply Scientology auditing with a friend with no experience other than just the book — it’s a way to get started in Scientology easily and the book includes a lot of the most fundamental ideas of Scientology, with the video plus the book there’s A LOT you can do.

There’s a 3rd book on Film on the website, called The Way to Happiness (TWTH). Although the book is written by L. Ron Hubbard, it is not religious in nature. The core concepts of Scientology are not in the book, the words Scientology or Dianetics are not included in there. The book instead is focused on being a common sense guide for better living. In fact the book speaks about religious freedoms for all religions. It’s a guide meant for everyone and honestly any sane person will agree with what is written inside.

The Way to Happiness as a book is also published by the Church in full to be read online and the film is actually a full reading of the book, word-for-word. Scientologists often donate to get people to read the Way to Happiness because the common sense in the book will help people be better friends, better parents, better everything.

There is a brief section on an Introduction to Dianetics, but this is quite incomplete and I expect a lot more to be coming out on the topic on Scientology TV.

Scientology Tools For Life

The now-famous 19 free scientology courses are based on the core of the Scientology Volunteer Minister program, the Scientology Handbook. The introduction of the book is unrivaled in its explanation of the spiritual nature of Man and the history of spirituality & religion, I personally changed a lot of my viewpoints after reading the beginning of the book. Sadly, the opening is not online and available, however all of the 19 Chapters are available for free in the courses above, and the Scientology Tools for Life section on Scientology TV gives a great overview of each chapter and some tidbits of information of each.

There are also general videos on the Principles of Scientology in its own section.

Local Churches around the world

You may have an Ideal Church of Scientology (Called Ideal Org) near you, and these are each creating videos about their cities and putting them into the series called Destination Scientology. The staff of the Idea Orgs show you around their city, and their church.

Major Church Landmarks

In the series called Inside Scientology you get a glimpse into some of the most important locations for the entire religion. This includes the Spiritual Retreat on the ocean called The Freewinds (where I first made the decision to become wealthy); Flag, the highest level church in the world (similar to the Vatican City for Catholicism) and several more.

Meet Scientologists

To see into the life of Scientologists, you have an incredible deep-dive into the professional careers of many Scientologists in the series Meet a Scientologist. You can see some like Attilla Barta from Hungary of Florin Ltd. who has built a massive cosmetics brand; Janet and Greg Deering of the premier banjo making company Deering Banjo.

There are also small clips of Scientologists in the “I Am a Scientologist” Series, these are roughly 1 minute clips of each person, rather than a long form version.

Humanitarian Work

Some major areas of reform and uplifting of the society through Scientology are:

  • Exposing Psychiatric Abuses: The section of documentaries published through CCHR is, for many, the hardest to watch, as it includes abuses so vile, it makes people want to puke, with atrocities as heavy as Electric Shock (ECT) and the history of death, including with lobotomies. Although possibly the biggest piece is the Church’s work in exposing the true dangers of psychotropics drugs and their insidious, vested interest nature. The CCHR Documentaries section may give you nightmares, but you may just wake up and save a friend from the grip this horrendous industry has on a friend or family member.
  • Improving values through The Way to Happiness and common sense.

And then one of the greatest sections of the Network, is seeing individuals, both Scientologist and not, working together in these areas to bring about a better world, and that is done in the Voices for Humanity series.

Pandemic Response

During the pandemic of 2020, the Church was involved in a massive movement to lessen the effects and these are documented in the Operation: Do Something About it documentary.

Documentary Showcase

The Network shows documentaries from activist filmmakers every Friday & Saturday at 8pm ET. These are NOT available for watching on demand, and must be caught live. However, there are for documentaries hosted, interviews with the filmmakers that are exclusive to Scientology TV and the trailers for the documentaries can be played as well. An example is this interview with the filmmakers for Hell or High Seas.

Recap

The Scientology TV Network is quite massive and all of the programming is available for free on the Scientology TV app (Apple or GooglePlay), on DirecTV Channel 320, on Roku or AppleTV.

Scientology is a very open religion and we are working quite diligently to make our beliefs known as well as make our help available in whatever way we can. I hope this guide can help you find what you’re looking to about Scientology or Scientologists.
