Elena Cardone joins Don’t Do Nothing Podcast for a powerful conversation on Scientology, Christianity, homeschooling, marriage, motherhood, and building a life with real purpose.

In this episode, Elena opens up about the early years of her life in Los Angeles, when she was acting, modeling, partying, and living what looked like a successful life from the outside. But internally, things felt unstable. She describes her life as a roller coaster of winning, crashing, feeling happy, then depressed.

That changed when she started reading Scientology books and applying simple tools to her life. Her communication improved. Her career improved. Her decisions improved. And for the first time, she began to feel more in control of her life instead of being the effect of everything around her.

Elena also shares how Scientology helped her become a stronger Catholic, a better wife, a better mother, and a more effective leader.

Elena also gives a behind-the-scenes look at building an empire with her husband, Grant Cardone, real estate billionaire, speaker, author, and founder of the 10X movement.

She breaks down why she and Grant chose homeschooling, how they raised their daughters with real-life tools, and why teaching children communication, finances, responsibility, and how to observe people matters more than memorizing subjects they may never use.

This episode also covers her relationship with Grant, how they built aligned goals, how she overcame the idea that she didn’t need a man, and why supporting your spouse can be one of the most powerful things a family can do.

Elena’s message is simple: confront what is not working, apply the right tools, and build a life that helps your family, your community, and the world.

[00:00:00] Brad: Welcome to another episode of the Don’t Do Nothing podcast. Today we have Mr. Lee Burns with us. So let me, let me give you the background on Lee. Okay. So he has an IQ of 1 53, so he ain’t a dummy, you know, don’t let the hat give you any ideas. He’s a bestselling author, he’s an international speaker. He is a rodeo performer, rodeo professional.

[00:00:22] Brad: He spent,

[00:00:22] Lee: he’s ridden bulls

[00:00:23] Brad: you think more than, more than one minute on the back of a bull in competition in your life. Collectively. Collectively than one minute.

[00:00:28] Lee: Collectively? Yes. Collectively, yes.

[00:00:29] Brad: Okay. That’s pretty impressive. That’s like one minute more than me. Uh, he’s a former firefighter and paramedic.

[00:00:35] Brad: He also set a record on the tower test, which is, I guess is a thing where you run with heavy equipment. So he’s fast as hell. Uh, he also is the co-founder of two companies.

[00:00:45] Lee: Yeah.

[00:00:45] Brad: And, uh, we’re definitely gonna dig into this a little bit. He is a former, uh, let’s say male entertainer.

[00:00:53] Lee: Oh yeah, we’re gonna go there.

[00:00:54] Lee: Okay. Yes, this is true.

[00:00:56] Aaron: Part of its resume. It’s, I think it all that not only is this the first [00:01:00] time that a, that a, that a male, uh, he is a male strip of this time Yes. Has been on the show. God. But I wanna say it, I think it’s just ironic that you’re also a firefighter, because it isn’t that like, always like the thing, like, yes, you come in with the firefighter, whatever, and it’s like, yeah, this is too hot and, you know what I mean?

[00:01:18] Aaron: Yeah. But like, you actually were a firefighter. So I just feel like it would just makes it more like, it makes it, it makes it even better. No, I don’t know.

[00:01:24] Brad: Not just a calendar firefighter.

[00:01:26] Lee: No. Um, can I just start with this though?

[00:01:29] Aaron: Absolutely.

[00:01:29] Lee: I apologize, sweetheart. I’m apologizing to my wife. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.

[00:01:35] Lee: Yes, yes. No. Um, yeah. You know, that’s funny that I, I, I, I didn’t tell you guys. That led to the jockey underwear ad, which is the most famous jockey underwear ad ever, because I guess the girls have something for guys, firemen in their underwear.

[00:01:54] Right.

[00:01:54] Lee: There were five of us in our underwear that they toured all over and did interviews on [00:02:00] entertainment tonight.

[00:02:00] Lee: It was, uh, oh my, yeah. It was an interesting time, especially, um, when we went to San Francisco to be interviewed.

[00:02:08] Aaron: Right.

[00:02:08] Brad: Wow,

[00:02:08] Lee: that was really great. So

[00:02:09] Aaron: you had interest of of, of from, from everybody.

[00:02:12] Lee: From everybody. Okay. Yeah, that’s right. From everybody. Oh, I just

[00:02:15] Brad: got that. I just got that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. And one thing that I also left out, very, very important point, he’s also a Scientologist.

[00:02:22] Lee: Yes, sir.

[00:02:23] Brad: That’s right.

[00:02:23] Lee: Yes, sir.

[00:02:24] Brad: Okay. Lee?

[00:02:26] Lee: Yes.

[00:02:26] Brad: What the, what man? What, what, what is this crazy, can you, like, where do you wanna start in this wild ride of a life that you’ve clearly had, which is not even close to being concluded like.

[00:02:40] Lee: Uh,

[00:02:40] Brad: where, where do you wanna start?

[00:02:42] Lee: Well, where do I wanna start? I, I think for this, like, we should start, like, uh, real, right?

[00:02:48] Brad: Yeah.

[00:02:49] Lee: Um, I had an awesome upbringing. Uh, my parents were amazing. Dad, uh, worked multiple jobs to take care of the family, lifted the family outta the [00:03:00] poverty that he grew up in. My mom as well. Um, they, they were incredible. We went to a Christian Church. Uh, it was an amazing church. We, uh, learned a lot, not just about a connection to God, uh, and something bigger than ourselves.

[00:03:15] Mm-hmm.

[00:03:15] Lee: But also, uh, about community and about connection and support of others, and, uh, uh, really help helping, helping a group, um, making others’ lives important as well, which was an awesome foundation. Then I then kind of trashed for a while in my early twenties. I just, I just kind of went to the other end of the spectrum and really got heavy into drugs, sold drugs for a while, did get into, uh, the Mel Strip mm-hmm.

[00:03:50] Lee: For bit. Um, so it kind of went to the other end of the spectrum. I, I guess it’d be the best way to say that, uh, but through no fault of my parents, right.

[00:03:59] Aaron: Mm-hmm. [00:04:00] Mm-hmm.

[00:04:00] Lee: Um, just, I think I had a strong appetite for life, maybe.

[00:04:04] Mm-hmm.

[00:04:05] Lee: Something like that.

[00:04:06] Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Now, now can we like, just back up a second.

[00:04:10] Lee: Yeah.

[00:04:10] Aaron: So, so first with your dad, what, what did your dad do these jobs? Multiple jobs. Like

[00:04:14] Lee: he, he mostly worked in construction.

[00:04:16] Aaron: Okay.

[00:04:16] Lee: Yeah.

[00:04:17] Aaron: Good.

[00:04:17] Lee: Yeah.

[00:04:17] Aaron: Okay. So, so you’re seeing your dad, uh, and your mom and dad, they were together? Yes. They stayed together. Okay.

[00:04:21] Lee: Until, yeah, until

[00:04:23] Aaron: much later

[00:04:23] Lee: was fully grown.

[00:04:24] Aaron: Okay.

[00:04:24] Lee: Yeah.

[00:04:25] Aaron: Now, when. Is there a time that you could remember that kind of like, started a, a, a downturn, you know, ’cause of course, I mean, you would say you might get into the drugs, get into the thing. Maybe that happens after something else happened. Like, was there, was there something that kind of led you down, led you with Stray from this family group that you had that, uh, was, was such a good, you know, role model for you?

[00:04:49] Lee: That’s a great question, man. There was, so, um, the church, we would go to church I think five times a week.

[00:04:59] Aaron: Wow.

[00:04:59] Brad: [00:05:00] Whoa.

[00:05:00] Lee: Yeah. Yeah. That’s amazing. It was, we were there a lot and, uh, learned a lot of good things. Like, as I was mentioning, I would say for me there was,

[00:05:09] Aaron: and which, which church was it? So like, uh,

[00:05:11] Lee: uh, uh, uh, it was called Gospel Assembly.

[00:05:14] Lee: Okay. It was a Pentecostal Okay. Uh, sec. That portion of, of Christianity.

[00:05:18] Aaron: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:05:19] Lee: And, um, I think for me, there was a, in those teachings it lacked. Something that I learned later about in Scientology.

[00:05:29] Mm-hmm.

[00:05:29] Lee: Which was being able to decide for yourself Mm. What is true.

[00:05:33] Mm.

[00:05:33] Lee: Um, having a self-determined approach to your spirituality mm-hmm.

[00:05:38] Lee: And to your spiritual journey.

[00:05:39] Mm-hmm.

[00:05:40] Lee: And, and without that, I became very rebellious. I think the way that I put it, uh, in Texas terms is if you’re on a stallion and you’ve got the reins and you’re holding them back like this mm-hmm. For the first, uh, about 18, 19 years of my life, um, [00:06:00] wow. No guys. It was, it was until I turned 17, they were like this.

[00:06:05] Lee: Yeah. And I say, when they, if they break, that stallion is gonna run through everything. Mm. Through every barbed wire fence through everything that’s in its way is just gonna go, go, go by 19, my mom said, um. You’re doing drugs, you can’t do that in this house. Mm-hmm. So you have to move out.

[00:06:24] Mm-hmm.

[00:06:25] Lee: Uh, and I did, and I kept going down further and further.

[00:06:29] Wow.

[00:06:30] Lee: Uh, from just doing the drugs, uh, to selling the drugs, uh, the came later. Mm-hmm. Um, you know, just, uh, what I understand now, like I, I can contextualize it now. I couldn’t then.

[00:06:46] Brad: Mm-hmm.

[00:06:46] Lee: Uh, I was looking for, I don’t know what I was looking for.

[00:06:49] Brad: Mm.

[00:06:49] Lee: Except now that I’ve experienced what I’ve experienced in Scientology, where we call it a release.

[00:06:57] Lee: Mm-hmm. Right. And it’s a release from this [00:07:00] mental pressure that you have. It’s a release from the constraints of the material universe and knowing with certainty that you are a spiritual being.

[00:07:11] Brad: Mm-hmm.

[00:07:12] Lee: So I thought I was getting that in drugs.

[00:07:14] Brad: Mm-hmm. Oh my god. Yeah.

[00:07:15] Lee: You know what I mean? Mm-hmm. Like, yeah.

[00:07:17] Brad: Yeah.

[00:07:17] Lee: Okay. Yeah.

[00:07:18] Brad: Absolutely.

[00:07:18] Lee: Right.

[00:07:19] Brad: Yes. You,

[00:07:20] Aaron: I mean that’s, that’s the marketing. It’s part of the marketing, right? Totally. It’s the whole thing of like, you take this and you’ll find out whatever, some other plane

[00:07:26] Brad: or something like That’s right.

[00:07:26] Aaron: Yeah. Part

[00:07:27] Brad: of the marketing and it’s extremely confusing. Yes.

[00:07:30] Brad: Like, yeah. Yes. That’s one of my, oh my God. Yeah. That’s one of my biggest gains from Scientology Decon. Confusing what the drug thing was versus actually experiencing the sensation of.

[00:07:42] Lee: Yes.

[00:07:43] Brad: You know?

[00:07:44] Lee: Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. You know, uh, I, I think the first, the first time I started to experience that was on the purification rundown.

[00:07:52] Lee: Mm-hmm. Right? Where you start to sweat all of these drugs and toxins back out. Mm-hmm. And, [00:08:00] um, I mean, that would we probably, you guys might wanna back up to Yeah, yeah. Back up a little bit in there.

[00:08:04] Brad: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It’s fine. No, no, it’s fine.

[00:08:06] Lee: It’s great. Uh, but that was my first experience of like, this difference.

[00:08:10] Brad: Mm-hmm.

[00:08:11] Lee: Um, and knowing that, I mean, I knew already that was not the answer. So before getting to getting into Scientology, just then I was searching for it. But again, in trouble with the law, it scared me straight. I thought I was going to prison and, um, uh, I straightened up in the guys that I was running with, like,

[00:08:29] Aaron: so, so let’s, let’s, uh, kind of maybe let’s back up a little bit.

[00:08:31] Aaron: I wanna know,

[00:08:32] Brad: I have a, I have a drug question.

[00:08:33] Aaron: Yeah. Go, go,

[00:08:33] Brad: go, go. I wanna know what was the exact sequence of drugs. Like, what did you, what did you start with and what did you, where did you end up?

[00:08:40] Lee: That’s great.

[00:08:41] Brad: Yeah.

[00:08:41] Lee: So, uh, it started, uh, alcohol. Alcohol is a drug. Yep, yep. Right? Yep. So it started with every form of alcohol that you could drink.

[00:08:49] Lee: Mm-hmm.

[00:08:49] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:08:50] Lee: And then it went from alcohol to, um, I think the first one was cocaine. I was trying to think if there was anything before that. Uh, [00:09:00] that was my main, main drug of choice. Mm-hmm.

[00:09:03] Brad: Wow.

[00:09:03] Lee: Um, it was, I mean, I did all of them. Okay. All of them. But it was the main drug of choice. It was the, um, having the apartment with the glass table and being able to put a big pile there, you know,

[00:09:15] Aaron: geez.

[00:09:15] Lee: And have the party and everybody’s over. And then, Hey man, look how cool you are that, you know, you, you got a, you’re like a drug, Lord. You got this powder in the middle of the table. Um, doing that, you know, you get your high, you get your release, but then as you know, it’s never as good as the first time.

[00:09:34] Lee: Mm-hmm. Right. Because each time. Once you get into Scientology and you understand what’s happening in the mind, you realize why, ’cause you’re pulling in more of this reactive side of the mind. Mm-hmm. So each time you do it, it’s really making you worse. Mm-hmm. And so you get this momentary release that’s not as good as it was in the beginning, so now you gotta try something else.

[00:09:53] Lee: Right. So now you gotta do crank or speed. Right. Well now you gotta try LSD and you gotta watch Pink [00:10:00] Floyd and the Beatles. And while you’re on LSD, you know, um, I sat outside one New Year’s Eve high on cocaine, uh, and had dropped acid. And I was sitting in a pair of underwear on the balcony with it freezing, like freezing temperature raining down, you know, slush ice, rain.

[00:10:22] Lee: Mm-hmm. And I’m in my underwear watching a light bleed. On the balcony.

[00:10:28] Mm.

[00:10:28] Lee: And people were coming out going, dude, you’re gonna get sick. You gotta come inside. You gotta come inside. I’m like, and they would, they tried turning off the light, and I would start screaming when the light was on. You’re killing it.

[00:10:37] Lee: You’re killing the light, man. Yeah. Really enlightened. Really enlightened, right?

[00:10:42] Brad: Yeah. Yeah, yeah,

[00:10:44] Lee: yeah.

[00:10:45] Brad: That, that reminds me of, uh, Tom’s recording story.

[00:10:48] Lee: Which one? Is that?

[00:10:49] Brad: That

[00:10:49] Aaron: on in, in? No. You, you fit? Yeah.

[00:10:52] Lee: Oh, alright.

[00:10:55] Brad: If, if you want to, great story. Oh, about to

[00:10:57] Lee: to Tom Cums. Yeah. Tomlin. I know this one episode.

[00:10:59] Lee: I know this one. [00:11:00] Yes. You gotta watch that episode. Put the link. Put the link. Okay. Check out that, check

[00:11:03] Aaron: out the story.

[00:11:04] Lee: Yes, yes, yes. Very similar to that. Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. Um, somewhere in there, somewhere along the way, my buddies and I started selling this stuff. Mm-hmm. Uh, the LSD actually is what we’re selling.

[00:11:17] Lee: Mm. Uh, sheets of acid is what they called it at the time. Right. And so we were selling that, uh, getting a crew together. Um, and uh, I got

[00:11:27] Brad: basically getting a crew of salesmen.

[00:11:29] Lee: That’s right. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, and then, you know, you start with enforcing ’cause you gotta have a rep. Uh, and all of this craziness, I mean, to look back on it now, the way my life is now, uh, what I find so fascinating is the people that know me now cannot imagine.

[00:11:45] Lee: That I was the person I used to be.

[00:11:47] Aaron: Mm.

[00:11:47] Lee: Right? Mm-hmm. And the people that would know me then can’t imagine that I turned out the way that I did now.

[00:11:53] Aaron: Wow.

[00:11:54] Lee: You know, when I got, when I got scared straight is what I call it. Right. Um, [00:12:00] I, I, the police were, I, I got called.

[00:12:02] Aaron: Let’s go, let’s go into I want that. Come on.

[00:12:04] Aaron: You gotta get into the story.

[00:12:05] Lee: Okay. But I, I can’t get too far into those details. All right. That’s

[00:12:09] Aaron: fine. It’s pa it’s passed the statute of limitations.

[00:12:11] Lee: Uh, maybe. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. But here’s, I, I did do something that was very illegal. Yeah. Uh, luckily no one got hurt.

[00:12:17] Aaron: Yeah.

[00:12:18] Lee: Uh, but it did scare the living out of some people.

[00:12:21] Lee: It involved, uh, uh, things that I shouldn’t have been doing while I was on drugs. Yeah.

[00:12:26] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:12:27] Lee: Um, and if you could think with that enforcer kind of idea and a rep that you’re trying to have, right?

[00:12:32] Mm-hmm. Yeah.

[00:12:32] Lee: And so the next thing I know, uh, I’m getting a phone call, uh, from, uh, some police officer, and then I call my dad.

[00:12:40] Lee: My dad helps me get an attorney and then have meetings with the attorney and find out that this is incredibly serious and that I could spend a very long time in jail. Mm-hmm. Uh, if this thing went through. And so, uh, it just scared me straight. Um, the attorney did a great job. I didn’t go to jail, but I dropped it.

[00:12:59] Lee: I dropped everything. [00:13:00] Cold Turkey.

[00:13:01] Aaron: The selling or also taking

[00:13:02] Lee: the selling and the taking. Wow. I dropped cold Turkey for a while.

[00:13:06] Aaron: Okay.

[00:13:06] Lee: Yeah. For a while. Um, but during the period that I dropped it, there was four, four guys that were in the crew, including me. Um, my best friend, um, was in college. He got caught.

[00:13:18] Lee: He continued to sell. He got caught. He lost his scholarship. This guy’s a brilliant, brilliant guy. Mm-hmm. Uh, he ended up on living on the streets for a very long time, uh, in drugs, uh, on drugs. And he was in and out of the penitentiary for crimes he was committing. Um, another guy, uh, got killed. Another guy went straight to prison and I never heard from him again.

[00:13:43] Lee: He went, I think it was a life sentence.

[00:13:46] Aaron: Wow.

[00:13:46] Lee: It was a long sentence. I remember that for sure. So I was, by the grace of God mm-hmm. Probably my grandmother in all of her prayers. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Truly. Mm-hmm. I did not go to jail and got a chance to, uh, straighten up some.

[00:13:59] Aaron: Wow.

[00:13:59] Lee: [00:14:00] Yeah. For a while.

[00:14:02] Aaron: Okay. So, so, okay.

[00:14:04] Aaron: So then carry on. So what happened? So how long? Yeah, how long? How long?

[00:14:09] Lee: So, I never went back to selling. Also.

[00:14:11] Brad: Roughly. Roughly how old were you

[00:14:13] Lee: at that time? So, at that time, um, that, that started, uh, 18, went through 1920, uh, probably to 21. Right through that area. When you got scared straight. When I got straight.

[00:14:25] Lee: Oh,

[00:14:25] Brad: so you’re, you’re young. You’re a young man.

[00:14:27] Lee: Was young. Yeah.

[00:14:28] Brad: Wow.

[00:14:28] Lee: Yeah.

[00:14:29] Brad: You’re lucky that happened so early. I’ve just, that’s my, that’s my viewpoint on it. Yeah.

[00:14:34] Lee: No,

[00:14:34] Brad: you know, that’s how I would feel about it. If I were in your shoes, I’d be like, thank God. 21 and not, didn’t take till you’re 28 or something like that.

[00:14:42] Lee: Totally, totally, totally. I mean, um, yeah. ’cause what, what came after that also was like, by the time I was 25, is in that range, is when everything I I, I stepped away from everything. What came next to your questionnaire [00:15:00] was the mouth stripping. Uh,

[00:15:02] Aaron: so, so at 25 is when you stopped, that’s when you got the scare?

[00:15:04] Aaron: No,

[00:15:05] Lee: no. I stopped selling, uh, all of that around 21 years old.

[00:15:09] Aaron: Yeah.

[00:15:09] Lee: I got scared straight.

[00:15:10] Aaron: Yep.

[00:15:11] Lee: At 21, somewhere around, I don’t know, three years, two years, probably two years later.

[00:15:17] Yeah.

[00:15:18] Lee: Is when, um, uh, I, I was a professional firefighter at the time. Apologize to the profession and to the, there’s, there’s a certain honor code that you’re supposed to have Yep.

[00:15:30] Lee: While you’re doing that. And I did not do a good job of maintaining it. Mm. While I was not in uniform. Right. Yeah. I did while I was in uniform, but while I was not in uniform, going out and being a is not, uh, is not really something that you want your firemen to be doing. Mm-hmm. Right? Mm-hmm. Um, I was looking for work on the side and a buddy of mine was, was, was at one of these places.

[00:15:49] Lee: Uh, so went over and checked it out and found out that you could make some money and, um, get a lot of admiration from females.

[00:15:58] Brad: Yeah,

[00:15:58] Lee: yeah. [00:16:00]

[00:16:01] Brad: Makes sense.

[00:16:02] Lee: Yes. Um, that then the alcohol became very heavy back into alcohol at the time. Yeah. Um, when I went on tour with that group and was headlining for that group, um, I started taking a bunch of drugs again.

[00:16:16] Aaron: Mm.

[00:16:16] Lee: And, uh, I Is,

[00:16:18] Aaron: that is, that’s pretty common in that

[00:16:20] Lee: area. Very. Very honestly, Aaron, there was not one night that I performed, if you wanna call it that mm-hmm. Without being, um, one, at least, at least completely smashed on alcohol mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. If not also on drugs. Yeah. You know?

[00:16:39] Brad: Yeah.

[00:16:40] Lee: Yeah. Like I, I, uh, uh, woke up, uh, um, they would do these things sometimes where you’re, you go to actually a female strip club mm-hmm.

[00:16:47] Lee: And they bring couples in. And so they have both, they’ll have like two or three women go on stage, and then they have a male come on stage and then they get you off to do these dances. I’m sorry, sweetheart. I’m sorry. They wanted me to be honest. I’m sorry. [00:17:00] Uh, my wife is amazing. Yeah. She has put up with so much.

[00:17:04] Brad: Yeah.

[00:17:04] Lee: Um, and so I, uh, uh, long story short, uh, somebody, somebody spiked my, uh, uh, my alcohol with, uh, I think it was called RHB. I’m saying that correctly, which was the date Dr. Rape drug during the time. Mm. And I woke up on the bathroom floor just like completely passed out. And then the guys helped me. They took me back to the dressing room and pumped a bunch of cocaine into me.

[00:17:30] Lee: Oh

[00:17:30] Brad: yeah.

[00:17:30] Lee: To wake me up.

[00:17:31] Brad: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh

[00:17:32] yeah,

[00:17:35] Brad: man. Yeah.

[00:17:36] Lee: I mean, what a solution, huh?

[00:17:38] Brad: Yeah. Wow. Totally. Wow.

[00:17:40] Lee: Yeah.

[00:17:41] Brad: How did that saga end up?

[00:17:43] Lee: So, you know what happened? Uh, my, uh, dude, you’re gonna make me cry. Come on

[00:17:49] Brad: please.

[00:17:51] Lee: My wife got pregnant with our son and then he was born. So you

[00:17:55] Aaron: were doing this while married?

[00:17:56] Aaron: I guess

[00:17:56] Lee: I was doing this while married. Oh, uh, yeah. Just

[00:17:58] Aaron: okay.

[00:17:59] Lee: Totally [00:18:00] terrible person. Um, um, uh, no, sorry that that was actually right. I was doing that right after my son was born still. But what was happening for me was this, uh, my son showing up. Um. Was really where the change, the true change started.

[00:18:19] Mm.

[00:18:20] Lee: Because I started to experience a level of love and care and a sense of responsibility that I’d never had before.

[00:18:30] Wow.

[00:18:30] Lee: And while I have a lot of gratitude for how I was brought up, and that I was introduced to the idea of a supreme being early on, right. And this idea that there is something more beyond this body, those teachings also had a lot of ideas about, I mean, frankly, there was, they, they were trying to teach us that we should be perfect in life, to be able to be worthy of the love of [00:19:00] the supreme being.

[00:19:00] Lee: Mm-hmm. Which they refer to as God. Right? Mm-hmm. And um, what happened for me with, with my son was I started to experience this love for him. And I was like, but I wouldn’t have any of those rules. I was told that the being that supposed supposedly created me right. And made this beautiful planet that we’re on and all of these galaxies and all these amazing things, this being is supposed to have all these rules that I have to follow and conditions that I have to meet and order to be welcome in his house and in order to receive his love.

[00:19:37] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:38] Lee: But I don’t have those conditions and rules for my son.

[00:19:41] Mm.

[00:19:41] Lee: I love my son no matter what.

[00:19:43] Mm.

[00:19:43] Lee: So I can come up with a better concept than God for love.

[00:19:47] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:48] Lee: That didn’t make any sense for me. Right. Yeah. So that actually started the spiritual search. Like I started, I went into, I didn’t go back to the church I grew up in.

[00:19:58] Lee: Um, it had actually broken [00:20:00] up and I went into kind of new age Christianity, uh, found a lot of things that I really liked there. Mm-hmm. But it didn’t answer all of my questions. Mm-hmm.

[00:20:08] Mm-hmm.

[00:20:08] Lee: So then I literally guys went through like every religion, just Wow.

[00:20:14] Yeah.

[00:20:14] Lee: What can I get outta this one? What can I get outta this one?

[00:20:17] Lee: And I found these beautiful, beautiful, amazing truths. Yeah. Um, that correlate in all of the religions. It’s, it’s, it’s, you know, I remember reading the Baha Gita.

[00:20:28] Mm.

[00:20:28] Lee: And as I’m reading through this at the fire station at night, back in my bunk, I’m reading this and I’m having realizations about the New Testament, the Christian New Testament and about Christ.

[00:20:43] Lee: And I’m like, wow, man, this stuff all hooks together. This is wild.

[00:20:48] Brad: Mm-hmm. Wow.

[00:20:49] Lee: So that, that led into, um, native American spirituality as well, uh, doing path journeys. With, uh, native American [00:21:00] shamans, uh, going into Oh, that, that doesn’t involve drugs.

[00:21:03] Aaron: It doesn’t, huh?

[00:21:04] Lee: No,

[00:21:04] Aaron: it sounds like it would.

[00:21:05] Lee: I know, right? No, it doesn’t.

[00:21:07] Lee: It does. Uh, uh, um, but it does involve, uh, leaving the body. Mm. Uh, and it does like, really that, yes, that was my first experience of not being in my body.

[00:21:16] Aaron: Wow.

[00:21:17] Lee: And going, wow. What is this?

[00:21:20] Aaron: So how, so can you, can I, I wanna know what, what was that? Yeah. Can you explain that? What, what, what happened there?

[00:21:25] Lee: So this, this, uh, lady, uh, she did it through, um, the chakras, these energy centers in the body.

[00:21:33] Lee: Mm-hmm. And she said it’s a path. Journey is what she called it. Mm-hmm.

[00:21:36] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[00:21:36] Lee: Um, and, um, there were, there was incense. She had this gong or, or bowl. It was a bowl, really pretty bowl that she rang. And then she was just as a guide, sort of, uh, telling me, you know, go look here. And so in my mind, I would go to this place and then find some being that would communicate with me, I look, I don’t know, this is what happened.

[00:21:57] Lee: Okay, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. Okay. Yeah. [00:22:00] Um, and I under, I had some, some, some understanding of my son, even at that point, and some gratitude for him coming to be my son and being this wake up call for me. Mm-hmm. That started this whole journey of I wanna understand myself spiritually.

[00:22:15] Wow.

[00:22:16] Lee: I wanna understand what am I here for on this planet.

[00:22:19] Lee: Right. This is, this is, honestly God. The so, so where my spiritual journey branched off from only Christianity. ’cause I wouldn’t say that I, that I don’t believe in Christianity Now I do.

[00:22:30] Aaron: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:22:31] Lee: You know, um, I think that that Scientology has made me a much better Christian than I ever was before.

[00:22:36] Aaron: Yeah.

[00:22:37] Lee: But, uh, where it started to branch off for me, I, I was going to these Bible studies and I had been saying my prayers and I felt like God had given me an answer to something. When I went to the Bible study, the minister told me that I was wrong, that God had given me a test and I had failed it.

[00:22:55] Oh.

[00:22:56] Lee: So I went home and I had the most honest [00:23:00] prayer session that I’d ever had.

[00:23:02] Lee: I got down on my knees next to my bed and I was, uh, I mean, this is one of these like crying snot slinging. Mm-hmm. You know, just pouring my guts out. And I told at the time, I said, God, listen, it’s the most honest communication I can give is I need to know who you really are. And if it’s everything that I have ever been told by preachers, I will believe it.

[00:23:28] Lee: But only if you tell me.

[00:23:30] Wow.

[00:23:30] Lee: And if it’s completely different than anything I could ever have imagined, I will believe it. But only if you tell me.

[00:23:37] Mm.

[00:23:37] Lee: And if you, and this was my belief system at the time, I say, and if you want me to be a bum under a street, whatever my purpose is here. I will, I will accept that, but only if you’ll show me who you really are and what I’m really here for.

[00:23:53] Mm.

[00:23:53] Lee: Now this amazing journey started after that of these books just starting to pop into my life, Dr. Wayne [00:24:00] Dyer was the first one. Mm. Then it leads to the Baha Yita, then it leads to Deepak Chopra, then it leads to conversations with God, then by Neil Donald, wash, then all et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

[00:24:10] Lee: The, the, the, uh,

[00:24:11] Aaron: so this is when you, so first you made that request, you said Yep. And then, then you started reading all these books. That’s right. That was the beginning of that curiosity you said, I’m gonna find out.

[00:24:19] Lee: You got it. Okay. And that led to the Native American shaman. Mm-hmm. And that occurrence.

[00:24:24] Lee: Mm-hmm. It led to, uh, transcendental meditation, which I did for three years. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And I had outof body experiences with this as well. Mm-hmm. Right? Mm-hmm. Um, all of these things, by the time I moved to Los Angeles for the entertainment business and being in film and television, um, when, when I moved out there.

[00:24:43] Lee: I basically had, I guess, the idea of new age spirituality is what my wife and I were operating.

[00:24:48] Aaron: Well, I, I have to put this together, dude. ’cause I’m a little lost. Hold on. When this started, did you stop being a, were you already, or you like, you know, you’re like, I’m at Bible study and then I’m like, [00:25:00] slinging it at night.

[00:25:00] Aaron: Like, like, what, what, when did one thing start? Did they end?

[00:25:05] Lee: But when, when I started into the Bible study, I stopped the stripping. Oh, same

[00:25:09] Aaron: day or what?

[00:25:10] Lee: No, it was a little before. Okay. But that’s, but, but, but during that time, so here’s what the minister, the thing I said on the minister. Yeah. Uh, it was the jockey underwear ad.

[00:25:20] Lee: And my angel, it really was the, my agent had called me and said, uh, they want you to come do another appearance and, and they’re gonna pay you double for this one. Oh. So, um, uh, and Entertainment Tonight had covered it and all this stuff. So the, the minister told me. That was not an answer from God because you’re selling lust, so you’re wrong.

[00:25:39] Aaron: So that’s the thing that made you go and home and cry and ask. That’s

[00:25:41] Lee: the thing that made go home and cry and ask.

[00:25:43] Aaron: So at that’s when you stopped.

[00:25:45] That’s right.

[00:25:46] Aaron: Wow. Wow. Wow. Dude, that minister, well, that minister’s on

[00:25:51] point.

[00:25:52] Brad: I was just gonna say, he kind of helped

[00:25:53] you all point though. Come on, come on. Okay.

[00:25:59] Okay.

[00:25:59] Brad: I, [00:26:00] yeah, I, I thought that it was going the opposite direction of like that minister damn hit, but he kind of helped you a lot, right?

[00:26:06] Lee: He helped me actually. I still, uh, uh, he passed a few years back, but I still love that guy very well. His name’s Billy Gilmore. Wow. Um, my best friend.

[00:26:15] Brad: Did he know, does he, did he know that you loved.

[00:26:17] Lee: Oh, absolutely. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. Yeah. Uh, my best friend going up, uh, Alex Gilmore, it was his dad. And, um, I stay, you know, Billy, I called him Paul.

[00:26:28] Brad: Mm-hmm. ‘

[00:26:28] Lee: cause he was my second dad. Mm. Uh, he knew all the way to the end. Absolutely. A hundred

[00:26:33] Brad: percent. So it wasn’t just a minister your second dad.

[00:26:35] Lee: Yes.

[00:26:36] Brad: Wow. Oh my goodness.

[00:26:37] Lee: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I

[00:26:38] Brad: mean, sometimes you need a little bit of smack around dude, like, bro, what you’re doing is not right. Like, boom. That’s right.

[00:26:44] Lee: Yeah.

[00:26:44] Brad: You know? That’s right.

[00:26:45] Lee: Yeah.

[00:26:45] Brad: Yeah. A little cowboy smack.

[00:26:47] Lee: Yeah. Well, you know, yeah. I was used to it growing up, that’s for sure. Yeah.

[00:26:53] Brad: Wow.

[00:26:54] Lee: Oh, geez.

[00:26:55] Lee: Yeah. Man, dude,

[00:26:56] Brad: that’s amazing.

[00:26:56] Lee: Yeah.

[00:26:57] Brad: Okay, so I feel like the question in the air, [00:27:00] how did you find z? Do I feel like we’re getting, I feel like we’re

[00:27:02] Lee: getting close. I think you led right. No, it’s, it’s, it’s actually perfect. Yeah. Yeah. Because am I, am I good on this?

[00:27:07] Brad: Yeah.

[00:27:07] Lee: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So we, uh, we had moved to Los Angeles and, um, we had three children.

[00:27:14] Lee: Uh, wow. We were living in a small apartment and, uh, all the kids are, are young. Um, I am not, I I had become a big fish in the little pond, is the way I’d say it. In Texas. Mm-hmm. In acting. Mm-hmm. At a recurring role on Walker, Texas Ranger. Mm-hmm. Uh,

[00:27:30] Aaron: dude. Chuck Horse

[00:27:31] Lee: with Chuck. I

[00:27:32] Aaron: love that

[00:27:33] Lee: man. Yeah,

[00:27:34] Aaron: I know.

[00:27:34] Lee: You know, I know. He recently passed. Can I just tell this quick Chuck story please? Absolutely. Okay. This is how awesome this dude is. All right. So my first episode on, uh, Walker, Texas Ranger, it was actually just as a paramedic and it was with one of the other series regulars and, uh, the character playing her dad and it, I was in the back of the ambulance.

[00:27:56] Lee: The director of that episode actually happened to direct that [00:28:00] old series called Emergency was long, long time ago, fireman, uh, paramedic on, uh, uh, on, on, it was a series on television. So this guy, it’s important because he knew that I actually was a paramedic. Mm. I was a firefighter paramedic at the time, for real.

[00:28:15] Lee: So whenever I saw the scene and I read what they had written for him to say, I said, do you really want me to say this?

[00:28:22] Mm.

[00:28:23] Lee: And he said, well, what would you say? So I added a bunch to it, right? And I said, well, this isn’t totally accurate. Now I would actually be saying this and that, and the back, the way the back of the ambulance is set up is isn’t, I mean, there would be blood, there would be things all over.

[00:28:37] Lee: So he let me make it real.

[00:28:38] Wow.

[00:28:38] Lee: Then the next scene, I come out of that, uh, and there was no lines written. We were at the hospital and we were just rushing in and I go. This isn’t how it would go. He goes, well, why don’t you just say what you would say? So I ad-lib the whole scene. That’s what turned me into being a series regular.

[00:28:53] Lee: Okay. Wow. So not a series regular, not sorry, sorry. A recurring. A recurring. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. That returned me into recurring. Yeah. So my [00:29:00] next episode was the first time I met Chuck, and it was him and all of the rest of the cast. Um, and there was a baby that was on, um, this cot and I was the paramedic explaining to them what was going on.

[00:29:13] Lee: Mm. And I was freaking nervous.

[00:29:16] Right, right. You got Chuck Norris.

[00:29:18] Lee: Whoa. I mean, Chuck is there. It’s the rest of the series regulars. And I’m like, I’m the only one with lines, Uhhuh. I’m the only one saying anything. Right. Wow. And I’m standing there and I’m trying to remember my lines in my head and da. And here’s the amazing thing, Chuck.

[00:29:34] Lee: He, he clocked it like all the serious regulars across on the other side. They’re chatting, everything’s getting set up, and he sees that I’m nervous. And he stops his conversation and he turns and he just leans across. He goes, Hey man, how you doing? And he just starts talking to me, a real person. Mm-hmm.

[00:29:51] Lee: You know, and just like genuinely cares and thank you for being here and just amazing. Put me in complete and total ease. Then I had fun with the [00:30:00] scene and then from there on, anytime I would see him, he, he reminded me I got to work with Gary Sinis later. Um, and each of these guys, whether they were dealing with another celebrity, uh, somebody who was a guest star, somebody who was a big star, somebody who was just behind the scenes, an extra, he treated everybody the same man.

[00:30:23] Lee: Wow. It’s really, really beautiful. Um, so anyway, that was the Chuck Norton.

[00:30:27] Aaron: Thank you for that.

[00:30:27] Lee: Yeah, totally. Um, okay, so we had moved out, I had big fish in a little pond ’cause the things I’d done in Texas and move out to LA and I’m starting over. So I’m not really making much money.

[00:30:39] Aaron: Mm-hmm. Um, and you have three kids already?

[00:30:41] Lee: And I’ve got three kids. Okay. That’s right. And my dad is helping support me and a wife, and a wife, um, who’s supporting me the whole way. Amazing. And, uh, Melissa is her name, by the way. And, uh, good job,

[00:30:55] Brad: Melissa.

[00:30:56] Lee: That’s right. I love you, baby. So, uh, she was [00:31:00] supporting me the whole way, but we were really struggling and I had filed for bankruptcy.

[00:31:04] Lee: I mean, it was just, it was tough. So, separately, we had not told each other. I stand up, uh, uh, in the living room one day by myself and I go help me. Like, I’m, I’m praying, right? Mm-hmm. Help me, just freaking help me, please. Mm-hmm. Separately, my wife had also prayed and said, I need help, but, you know, we’re into new age spirituality, you know, you think it and glow it, right.

[00:31:25] Lee: You, you, you put it out there and the universe will give it back to you. Mm-hmm. You know, and this sort of thing. And she says, I, I need more help than that. I need something that is a do this, do this, do this. You get this result. Mm-hmm. Right.

[00:31:38] Aaron: Scientology, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

[00:31:40] Lee: yeah. We don’t know this at the time.

[00:31:42] Lee: Yeah. So after we both separately have said these prayers, I get a call from my manager, uh, like two days later and she says, I have an audition for you at the Church of Scientology. Are you okay with going there? And I’m like, yeah, why wouldn’t I be Right,

[00:31:57] right, right.

[00:31:59] Lee: It’s union [00:32:00] work, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:32:01] Lee: Okay, good. So, so I go up for the, uh, for the audition, and uh, while I’m sitting and waiting, I pick up the magazine. It’s got Kelly Preston on the cover. Yeah. And it’s talking about the purification rundown.

[00:32:14] Aaron: Wow.

[00:32:14] Lee: So as I’m reading the purification rundown, I’m like, drug addict. Uh, firefighter. Yeah. Oh

[00:32:23] Brad: yeah.

[00:32:23] Brad: The smoke.

[00:32:24] Lee: Yes. Yeah.

[00:32:26] Brad: Oh, dude. Oh yeah.

[00:32:27] Lee: That’s

[00:32:27] Brad: nasty. Yeah. Didn’t

[00:32:28] Lee: even think

[00:32:28] Brad: about that. Yeah.

[00:32:30] Yeah.

[00:32:30] Lee: Yep. So that, that grabbed my attention. I went in for the, um, for the audition. I came out and, and the, it said that they were having a lecture called Clear Body, clear Mind. Mm-hmm. On this purification rundown. So I went up to the receptionist and I said, is, is this open to like, you know, do you have to be a member of the church to come to this?

[00:32:49] Lee: Or can anyone come to this? Mm-hmm. And she said, no, anyone can come. You’re welcome to come. I said, okay, that’s great. She said, would you like a tour of the church? Mm-hmm. I said, well, not really, but I’d really like, but I’d really like to know [00:33:00] what Scientology. I was honest answer. Yeah. I was like, I really would like to know what Scientology is about though.

[00:33:04] Lee: Yeah, yeah,

[00:33:04] Aaron: yeah.

[00:33:04] Lee: And she said, well, they’ll tell you while they give you a tour.

[00:33:07] Okay.

[00:33:07] Lee: Uh, good answer. I. And, uh, that’s where I met Athena Ri

[00:33:13] Aaron: Oh my gosh.

[00:33:14] Lee: Yes. And Athena gave me the tour and I spent half of the day with her. Yeah. What

[00:33:21] Aaron: Athena, it all comes together.

[00:33:23] Lee: Right. Wow. Of course, Athena. Okay.

[00:33:27] Aaron: Yeah, yeah,

[00:33:28] Lee: yeah, yeah.

[00:33:29] Lee: So she, um, uh, she was so perceptive, uh, and being aware at what I was looking at as a spiritual being, what was, where are my interests, where was my, um, what was I trying to find out, what, what questions did I have? And they, they actually weren’t entry level questions.

[00:33:48] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[00:33:49] Lee: Which she worked in entry level Scientology stuff, right?

[00:33:53] Lee: Yeah. Yeah. But she’s So Athena, I love you. You know this. She, um. Helped me [00:34:00] find my home man because she talked to me about these spiritual concepts that I had been exploring and all these other religions of how can I be more,

[00:34:11] Brad: yeah.

[00:34:12] Lee: How can I achieve more as a Christian? One of the, the, the teachings from the New Testament that always stuck out to me was from, uh, Christ saying, even the least among you shall do all of I have that I have done.

[00:34:27] Lee: Mm. And even more.

[00:34:28] Brad: Yeah.

[00:34:28] Lee: Right.

[00:34:29] Brad: Wow. I love that.

[00:34:30] Lee: Right. Woo. Isn’t it good?

[00:34:31] Brad: Yeah. So good

[00:34:33] Lee: man. So I’m looking at cut heels

[00:34:34] Brad: from I’m mm-hmm.

[00:34:36] Lee: I’m looking at my life and I’m going, I’m not anywhere close to that, so what don’t I understand?

[00:34:42] Brad: Yeah.

[00:34:43] Lee: What am I not reaching that he understood? ’cause he said this was going to happen, so how is this going to happen?

[00:34:50] Lee: Yeah. You know? Yeah. And then I read something like Autobiography of a yogi. By Paramahansa Yonda, and they have people [00:35:00] that are doing Christ-like things, these yogis, you know, miracles and stuff. Mm-hmm. And I go, how can I get to that level?

[00:35:06] Brad: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

[00:35:07] Lee: Isn’t that what I should be going for? If he said, this is what, what’s what’s going to happen?

[00:35:11] Lee: Shouldn’t I be trying to make that happen? Yeah. You know?

[00:35:13] Aaron: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:35:14] Lee: Anyway, that’s what I was looking at. I, I wanted to know what, what am I capable of as a spiritual being? How can I create an effect on the environment around me that is so the opposite of this bad effect

[00:35:27] Aaron: mm-hmm.

[00:35:27] Lee: That I had been creating.

[00:35:29] Lee: Yeah. Right. So I spent half the day with Athena and at the end of it, Athena turns to me and she goes, I think you already are a Scientologist.

[00:35:41] Lee: Wow.

[00:35:43] Brad: Oh my God. Wow.

[00:35:45] Lee: Yeah, man. Yeah.

[00:35:47] Brad: You wanna hear something crazy? When I first got a tour, uh, of a church here in Tampa. I spent about four hours there the first time. Like, I think I came in at like 10:00 AM I was there till like 2:00 PM

[00:35:59] Lee: [00:36:00] Yeah,

[00:36:00] Brad: it was, yeah. Very, very similar experience.

[00:36:03] Lee: It’s, it’s amazing how many questions it answers.

[00:36:07] Brad: Yeah.

[00:36:07] Lee: Right? Yes. Like it has specific answers for Right. The thing that my wife and I, we, you know, uh, agreed with and, and, and one of my friends, Eric, uh, Meyersville, he’s at the Celebrity Center International Church mm-hmm. In Los Angeles. Um, he, he said this later, uh, I’ll tie this together. So my wife and I agreed with, and we could observe that this was true.

[00:36:32] Lee: That what you put out there does come back. Yeah. Right. And there was this move, this, this documentary that came out called The Secret.

[00:36:37] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:36:38] Lee: Mm-hmm. Yeah. And that you, what you put out there then will come back to you. Right? Yeah. And so Eric used to say, well, you know, they call it a secret. It’s, it’s not really a secret.

[00:36:48] Lee: I mean, it’s been known for a long time, you know? Mm-hmm. What you put your attention on, you are going to get.

[00:36:53] Mm-hmm.

[00:36:53] Lee: The question would be, if we know this, then why don’t we just do that? [00:37:00]

[00:37:00] Brad: Mm.

[00:37:00] Lee: Why is it so hard if I know that I should focus on the positive all of the time.

[00:37:05] Brad: Mm.

[00:37:05] Lee: Right. And then if I can focus on the positive all the time, and if I can focus on abundance and I can focus on spiritual growth, if I can focus on these things and that, and I’ll have them, then why do I not focus on it?

[00:37:19] Lee: Mm. Yeah. What is this other stuff that comes in, these other voices, if you will? Mm-hmm. In my head? Yeah. What is that? Right? Yeah. This, the, the voices on my shoulder. Uh, the interfering thoughts that are coming across that are pulling my attention to this negativity.

[00:37:33] Brad: Yeah.

[00:37:34] Lee: To this, uh, self invalidation.

[00:37:36] Lee: Mm-hmm.

[00:37:36] Brad: Those are the real intrusive thoughts, by the way.

[00:37:39] Lee: Yeah. The self invalidation. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yes.

[00:37:41] Brad: People talk about intrusive thoughts. That’s the real

[00:37:43] Lee: bro. Intrusive bro. Yes. Mm-hmm. I mean, all, not to go all the way back, but I mean, during all that time when I look back on why was I doing the stripping, why was I doing all these things, it’s actually because I was so insecure.

[00:37:57] Brad: Mm.

[00:37:57] Lee: That I was willing to give up anything [00:38:00] to have someone else admire me for a minute. Wow. Right. Anyway, going back to what Eric said, so he said all of these intrusive thoughts, these things that come in, that’s what Scientology addresses in auditing. He’s right.

[00:38:14] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:15] Lee: Right. This is where you find where the source of these things are.

[00:38:20] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:20] Lee: It’s why you need the e-meter.

[00:38:23] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:23] Lee: Because it’s, it’s, I mean, look man, uh. I’m interested in everything, as you guys can probably tell. Right? Yeah. So in Subatomics, they, some of the studies they’ve already shown, their scientific experience has shown that a negative thought has more mass.

[00:38:38] Brad: Yeah.

[00:38:38] Brad: Yeah.

[00:38:39] Lee: Than a positive Meaning

[00:38:40] Brad: weight.

[00:38:40] Lee: Weight, that’s right. Physical weight. Physical, yeah. So this, this e-meter, this carrier wave of this small energy that’s going through you, it finds these freaking small negative, these masses.

[00:38:54] Brad: Yeah.

[00:38:55] Lee: These thoughts. You hear this phrase, you got the weight of the world on your shoulder.

[00:38:58] Lee: You look like you have the weight [00:39:00] of your, the world on your shoulder.

[00:39:01] Brad: Yeah. Yes.

[00:39:02] Lee: It’s physical, bro. Yes. Mm-hmm. Like it’s real. You are literally carrying more mass on you. Mm-hmm.

[00:39:08] Brad: Yeah.

[00:39:08] Lee: But a trained auditor can help you spot where these intrusive thoughts. Yeah. Are these negative thoughts, are this negative energy.

[00:39:18] Lee: And through Scientology processing, you can actually get rid of it, man. Yeah. It’s not that you can. Uh, when I came back from Los Angeles to to Texas, one of my friends, uh, I went out with four of my friends to hang out and, um, where we went to go, they wanted to go have beers and stuff, and it’s fine. I had a little bit of a beer, like, I don’t, I don’t really drink anymore.

[00:39:41] Lee: It’s just not my thing, right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:39:42] Yeah.

[00:39:42] Lee: Some of the guys are kind of pounding them away, you know? And the more they pound ’em, the more they’re looking at girls coming by and Oh my God, she’s so, eh, you know, this sort of thing. Yeah. And um, they would, they would, they’d say that and then they’d go, did you see her?

[00:39:55] Lee: And I’d be Who? And they go, that girl there. And I go, oh, sure. She’s pretty. Anyway, and then I [00:40:00] keep talking about whatever I’m talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Now, I used to be the dog of dogs, right? Like this game started and I was picking who I was going home with,

[00:40:09] right?

[00:40:10] Lee: So one of my buddies, uh, TJ spotted that there was something different about me, right?

[00:40:18] Lee: So he talks to me a few days later and he goes. So, dude, you’re, you know, the other night and I was watching what’s happening and you know, so you, you’re, you’re not like that anymore. And I go, no, bro, I’m not like that at all anymore. Mm-hmm. And he says, so you learned how to control it? I said, no, I didn’t learn how to control it.

[00:40:39] Lee: I actually found the source of it, man. Mm-hmm. And when I found I’m gonna cry, found the source of it, man. And I got rid of the source of it. Mm. And here’s the thing. Here’s the thing. Here’s what’s important. I always wanted to be faithful to my wife.

[00:40:56] Aaron: Wow.

[00:40:57] Lee: I always wanted to be a good [00:41:00] guy. I had that in me, this honor code.

[00:41:04] Lee: Mm-hmm. That I was violating all the time. I didn’t want to be violating. Mm-hmm. I did not want to be filling myself full of drugs. I did not want to be going out and being unfaithful. I did not want to be a fucking piece of shit. Mm-hmm. But I was, and I couldn’t control it and I didn’t know how to turn it off.

[00:41:22] Lee: And then I get into Scientology processing and I find out where did that thought come from?

[00:41:27] Mm-hmm.

[00:41:31] Lee: That’s what happened. I don’t have to think that way anymore, man.

[00:41:35] Wow.

[00:41:35] Lee: So now, no, I’m not sitting in there with these pretty women walking by going, control yourself. Control yourself. Don’t do it man. Don’t do it, man.

[00:41:42] Lee: Don’t do it, man. I’m not having the thought.

[00:41:45] Yeah.

[00:41:45] Brad: Yep.

[00:41:46] Lee: The thought isn’t present because I love my wife. I only wanna be with my wife. That’s right. Let’s go. Yeah. Now I get to be an honorable man [00:42:00] just because that’s who I am, not because I’m trying to run control on myself. It’s automatic, bro. That’s, bro, that’s priceless.

[00:42:10] Lee: Yeah. Beautiful.

[00:42:10] Brad: And I want to, and I wanna pre handle, ’cause I have a, have had a very like. Your experience is very, I’ve had a very similar experience.

[00:42:17] Lee: Yeah.

[00:42:17] Brad: Yeah. In Scientology, like, we’ll talk about it offline, but extremely similar. Okay. And the, so he was, what was his

[00:42:23] Lee: name?

[00:42:24] Aaron: He, he, well, he was

[00:42:25] Brad: my wife was a,

[00:42:27] Aaron: come on.

[00:42:28] Aaron: No, but, but he also joined as well? No, it was also part of it. No, no. I, okay. But hold on, wait. Before we get into that, no, no, no. Hold on. Something to say that. Okay. Okay. Go

[00:42:38] Brad: to, to pre handle something people might ask. Well, but you’re not a, you’re not a dog anymore. And what I would say to that, and you can tell me if this is true, this is my experience of it, is you can now apply that doggedness, that like beast mentality to the things that it should be applied to, which is making something good.

[00:42:56] Brad: Expand, apply it to your work. Right. Apply [00:43:00] it to your marriage. Apply it to having fun with your kids.

[00:43:02] Lee: Yeah.

[00:43:03] Brad: You know? Yes.

[00:43:03] Lee: You can

[00:43:04] Brad: apply it where it should be applied.

[00:43:06] Lee: Amen. Amen. Can I get an amen? Amen. Amen. Brother

[00:43:10] Aaron: and I, I, I wanna say, hold on. I wanna, this whole time, I just wanna say one thing. Guys, anybody watching this?

[00:43:16] Aaron: You are invited to go in for a tour.

[00:43:18] Brad: Yeah.

[00:43:19] Aaron: You are invited to go for a tour. So if you wanna see your, the nearest church near you, it’s scientology.org/locator. And in fact, we’re not about changing somebody’s religion. This man talks to all these religions. We have the religious books up here. We want you to be a better Christian, a better Buddhist, a better Muslim.

[00:43:34] Aaron: It is about learning how to be yourself and get rid of the things that are barriers to you being more God-like being more Christ-like, being more, uh, holy, being more faithful. Yeah. And you are welcome to come in. Okay. You might not be able to meet Athena, okay? But you’ll have somebody that will walk through you, uh, and, and, and go and, and show [00:44:00] you around.

[00:44:00] Aaron: So scientology.org/locator, uh, you can find the place where to walk into and, and just learn, uh, grab a book. If, if, if the person you talk to wasn’t so stimulating, grab the book because. All their teachings are in writing and you can learn about them. And you can also download the, if, if you don’t feel like going to to church, it’s too far Scientology tv.

[00:44:20] Aaron: Okay, check it out. There you go. I’m just putting that in there because like, bro, I’m listening like, you’re welcome, right? Like, that’s right. You got this experience, you have these results. It’s like if you’re interested, just walk in. They just want

[00:44:31] Brad: first, nobody tries to, first question is, can I come to the seminar or is it just

[00:44:35] Aaron: for wreck for people who

[00:44:36] Brad: are already

[00:44:36] signed?

[00:44:36] Brad: That’s right.

[00:44:36] Aaron: Not just,

[00:44:37] Lee: that’s right. That was the first question. But I’ll tell you, even as I started into it, right, and at the point that I got to do the, uh, purification rundown, I don’t think Michael Peno will mind me saying this. ’cause he was, he was so awesome. Mm-hmm. I was doing the purification rundown with him.

[00:44:50] Lee: And during that you go out and you run right to get the body warmed up before you go into the sauna, right? Mm-hmm. And then you sweat out all the drugs, bro. Do you sweat out all the drugs? [00:45:00] Anyway, I was out on a run with Michael and uh, he was like, so how long have you been a Scientologist? And I was like, actually I’m not bro.

[00:45:07] Lee: Uh, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m, I’m, I’m just doing this and I’m kind of, I don’t like to put myself kind of into any box. I’m kind of just checking it out, you know? I’m very interested in anything that’ll help me spiritually. And he was like, that’s freaking awesome, man. I love it.

[00:45:21] Aaron: Yeah.

[00:45:21] Lee: There’s not, I mean, there’s no, no trying to push somebody into something.

[00:45:25] Lee: None of this, none of that has ever happened. I definitely say I am a Scientologist now. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But there’s a technical definition of that, right? Yeah. It’s one who studies the technology of Scientology and applies it to better himself and his fellows.

[00:45:39] Aaron: Yes.

[00:45:39] Lee: And you, you, you can ask my wife. I’m better.

[00:45:43] Lee: Okay. You can ask my kids. I’ll tell you this.

[00:45:48] Aaron: And what about, what about your minister? What about your pastor, your paw, what did he say if

[00:45:54] Lee: you were, well, I never got to have that conversation with him, but I’ll tell you this. Um, my brother [00:46:00] passed, uh, uh, almost two years ago, and during that time of his passing, um, I spent time, uh, about almost the last 72 hours with him there.

[00:46:11] Lee: And I am a trained auditor.

[00:46:12] Mm-hmm.

[00:46:13] Lee: And during that time, um, I was able to apply that training to everyone around me, uh, to my brother and what he was going through to my mom, to my father, to my aunt, uh, and, uh, the hospital staff. Everyone. The training, the training to be an auditor is just, I mean, you wanna know how you can really help somebody.

[00:46:37] Lee: You wanna know how you can really make an impact just in day-to-day life.

[00:46:40] Mm-hmm.

[00:46:41] Lee: Much less doing it with a meter, sitting there helping ’em. But day-to-day life, you have such an understanding of the reactive mind. Dietetics, read dietetics. Okay. The reactive mind. Go to dietetics.org. Okay. There’s videos.

[00:46:58] Lee: You can watch this. [00:47:00] You understand what’s happening. So you see the pressure that the spiritual being is under because of this part of their mind, and you’re able to stay stable in that environment and help them. And through doing all of this, I had an aunt that I’d had some friction with prior because I’m a Scientologist.

[00:47:18] Lee: Mm-hmm. And because she just didn’t have the information on it, right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. She just had, there’s some idiots out there saying things that are not true. Yep. And she had that information. So I mean, if that information was true, she’d have a reason to be, have a problem, right? Sure, sure. But it’s not true.

[00:47:31] Lee: So she sees me do this for this last 72 hours. By the way, she’s got 30 years of hospital administration. Mm. Okay. She developed these beautiful programs to help people pass over. Um, Christian programs mm-hmm. To help people when it comes time to pass over. Mm-hmm. Wow. Um, patient advocate programs. Okay. So she, she’s deep into it is my point.

[00:47:54] Lee: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. During this time, after my brother passed, one of the things that she said was, [00:48:00] in all of my years, I’ve never seen anyone do what he did referring to me.

[00:48:06] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[00:48:06] Lee: Telling the rest of the family. Mm-hmm. I’ve never seen that happen. I don’t know how he was able to continually do what he did in this situation.

[00:48:15] Lee: Right. The way I was able to do it, my auditor training

[00:48:19] Aaron: Yep.

[00:48:19] Lee: Plus all of my Scientology processing itself. Right. That it helped me to free up, get rid of these things from my mind to where I was able to be myself there sanely, I was able to take that doggedness. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And go. I literally made a decision when I walked in and I saw this scene, man, and I see my brother.

[00:48:37] Lee: It’s my little brother, bro. Yeah. Right. And he’s there and he’s unconscious and he’s got the tubes and I’ve got the medical knowledge. I understand what this means. I know this is probably not gonna turn out well. Mm-hmm. But I see everyone else around me and I go, I’ve got a responsibility to help, and now I have the tools to do it.

[00:48:55] Aaron: Yeah.

[00:48:56] Lee: So I do all of this and I’m able to create this. And I [00:49:00] wasn’t even trying to do this. Mm-hmm. I was just trying to help. Right. But I create this, this impact on everyone around me that helps them stably make it through all of this. I think they started calling me the oak, I’m the oak of the family now.

[00:49:12] Lee: Wow. And, uh, my mom, uh, a uh, a few weeks after my brother’s funeral called me and she said, I have to tell you, uh, my whole family’s all Christians great Christian people. Mm-hmm. And, um, she said, I have to tell you, uh, you changed the whole family’s view on Scientology. So what’s the difference? The difference is.

[00:49:32] Lee: They had, you know, there’s information that’s out there that’s not true. That’s, I’m not even gonna name the piece of craps that are out there lying. Mm-hmm. Right. But they see that information and if that information was true, then you should not like this. Right. So that’s So they don’t like it. And they don’t like that I’m in it.

[00:49:48] Lee: Alright. So that’s the information they have. Then they get to observe someone actually being a Scientologist. Yes. Actually applying Scientology to situations in life and in this case, [00:50:00] one of the worst situations in life. Yep. And they go, I love that. Mm-hmm. I love what this person is doing. Mm-hmm. This is so good.

[00:50:09] Lee: How could I not like that? Right. Yeah. And that. It’s, you know, it’s the same thing and it

[00:50:14] Brad: blows that away.

[00:50:15] Lee: It blows the, it blows the bullshit away. Yeah. ’cause you get to experience the truth for yourself. Yeah. It’s the same thing. If you walk into and you get to watch the videos, you read a book, you find out for yourself, you know, I’ve had people attack me and I did research.

[00:50:28] Lee: You did research. Research means that you looked at all the information here and see what your experience was, if this is bad. And then you looked at all the information here for yourself. Yeah. And you saw what all that information was. Right. And you saw what that experience was. Correct. It’s not that you watched somebody for five minutes.

[00:50:44] Lee: That’s right. On a YouTube video. It’s not research. It’s bullshit. Lazy. It’s lazy.

[00:50:50] Aaron: That’s right.

[00:50:51] Lee: It is. Can I get Amen. Amen.

[00:50:55] Aaron: Bro. The research, real research, like what you did and you saw and you went [00:51:00] through so many religions and studied so much true knowledge. Yeah. And saw there is truth here. There is truth here.

[00:51:05] Aaron: Yes, there is truth here. That is called research. That the, the amount of people, the amount of adults that have never finished a book, a nonfiction book after their college is abysmal.

[00:51:15] Wow.

[00:51:16] Aaron: It’s, it’s a very small percentage. And that’s because the curious, one of, one of the, the, the core things that makes us humans be special is our, is our curiosity, our wanting to know more.

[00:51:26] Aaron: And unfortunately, between the tv, between whatever, between the, the drugging, the pharmaceuticals, whatever, cause you can call it, our curiosity has been just dampened and dampened and dampened where you’re supposed to just believe.

[00:51:39] Yeah.

[00:51:39] Aaron: And I’m about believing no man. It’s about going, seeing, and experiencing.

[00:51:44] Aaron: So anyway, on point,

[00:51:45] Brad: another, another point. Thanks man. Another point on the research point is how many research papers have you ever seen that cite their source as Netflix?

[00:51:54] Lee: No. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:51:57] Brad: Like, come on.

[00:51:58] Lee: Right, right.

[00:51:59] Brad: True. [00:52:00] Like, take yourself more seriously is what I would say in your research.

[00:52:03] Lee: Yeah, man.

[00:52:04] Lee: You know, uh, um. When I, when I very first, I, I didn’t even know there was anything negative out there Right. When I first got in. Mm-hmm. And then I was on a, uh, mini series and I was in a, a makeup trailer with Brooke Shields and I was talking to her and I was just curious. I was asking like, what do you, what do you know about Scientology?

[00:52:22] Lee: What do you know? I was asking different people, right. And I asked Brooke and she goes, well, I have, um. You know, I have some friends that do it, and they absolutely love it. I have some other friends that did it, and, you know, it wasn’t for them, but, you know, really, I think that everyone just has to decide for themself.

[00:52:36] Lee: And I went, duh. Like, great advice. Thank you, Brooke. That was great advice. Um, and then I went, yeah, that’s, that’s actually my most successful action has been. Let me go find out for myself, does this align? Because one of the things that I found, you know, in my spiritual journey overall through all of these things [00:53:00] is that our journey to God, the supreme being Allah, Krishna, there’s many names, right?

[00:53:07] Lee: But our journey to that and a full awareness of ourselves, it’s individual. So you gotta go look for yourself, man. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You gotta, you are worth it, right? You are worth it. Your eternity is worth it. You as a spiritual being and knowing who you are is worth that effort to go look for yourself and see what you see and decide what is true for you.

[00:53:32] Lee: That’s what hooked me to Scientology right in the beginning.

[00:53:34] Mm.

[00:53:35] Lee: Oh, I get to decide.

[00:53:39] Brad: Yeah.

[00:53:39] Lee: You mean nobody’s telling me how I have to interpret. Yeah. No, as a matter of fact,

[00:53:43] Brad: yeah.

[00:53:43] Lee: That’s one of the fundamental teachings. Yeah. What is true is what is true for you. Yeah. What you can observe for yourself to be a truth in life, you know?

[00:53:52] Lee: Yeah. It’s beautiful.

[00:53:52] Brad: Yeah, it totally is.

[00:53:54] Lee: Yeah.

[00:53:54] Brad: Oh my gosh. Okay, let’s, let’s, if we’re okay with this, let’s, let’s come up to present time. [00:54:00] Okay. And how, so what’s life like now in terms of like applying, obviously you talked about the thing with, with your brother, which is incredible. Good job, by the way.

[00:54:09] Brad: Thank you, thank you, thank you. But in, in, in other areas of life, how’s it going? And, and how are you applying like Scientology in real life?

[00:54:16] Lee: So, so, um.

[00:54:22] Lee: It’s going so good, man. It’s, it’s going so good, uh, across, um, my whole life, uh, everything that I wanted my life to be. It’s now starting to be, um, you know, you mentioned, uh, getting to launch to help launch, uh, two different companies. Obviously there are other people involved. Right. Um, so a little over 12 years ago, um, one of the, I, I, I came across one of the discoveries that Ron had made, uh, on, um, that it’s called the Games [00:55:00] Triangle.

[00:55:01] Lee: Mm. Okay. So I think most people have seen the Scientology symbol. Right. And we have the two triangles on there. Mm-hmm. And all the information on scientology.org, you can get the information on that. Mm-hmm. So there’s another discovery that he made. You got ’em, you got the books? No, I just, we just have the, the kids, you got the triangle.

[00:55:18] Aaron: So this is arc, right? Uh, so if you look at the Scientology symbol, um, you know, actually the Scientology symbol, you could see it there, there, but uh, there’s two, there’s the two triangles, right? Yeah. And so these, uh, affinity route communication together, it’s understanding, uh, when one increases, the other increases.

[00:55:33] Aaron: It’s in the book, by the way. Uh, and then the bottom one, oh, sorry, sorry. The top triangle is KRC, my bad knowledge, responsibility, control. Okay. Which they’re together. And, and this is a concept, generally this is used and you’re gonna go into over, over another one.

[00:55:44] Lee: Yes.

[00:55:44] Aaron: But, um, it’s a tool because you go, Hey, if I want to have more control over something, then I should know more about it and I should take more responsibility.

[00:55:52] Aaron: And then responsibility is very, very greatly defined in Scientology school. Yes. But that’s another, another topic. Yes. But the point is that these are the two triangles he’s talking about. Now he’s gonna [00:56:00] talk about a different triangle. Which in fact, I don’t think we’ve talked about it on this show.

[00:56:03] Aaron: Never was.

[00:56:04] Lee: Oh

[00:56:04] yeah.

[00:56:04] Aaron: So

[00:56:05] Lee: yeah. This is great. Okay, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go. I’m gonna get excited now. Okay. Okay. Okay. So it isn’t a lecture, um, series called The 16th American Advanced Clinical Course Lecture series. Mm-hmm. You can go into any church and you can see this yourself. Okay. So he talked about something he called the games Triangle discovery, and it works just like those triangles.

[00:56:26] Lee: Mm-hmm. But the corners are purposes, barriers, and freedom.

[00:56:30] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[00:56:31] Lee: So a lot of people have this idea that if you increase your purposes, of course you can think with, like, that means I’m gonna have bigger barriers. Right. But they have this idea that once you overcome the barrier is when you experience the freedom.

[00:56:44] Lee: That’s not how the triangle works.

[00:56:45] Brad: Mm-hmm. Oh,

[00:56:49] Aaron: you don’t know about this one. You haven’t heard about this one. This is new for you. I haven’t

[00:56:52] Brad: listened to

[00:56:52] Aaron: this. This is new for you.

[00:56:53] Brad: Yeah. Okay. I know this triangle, but I never thought about that.

[00:56:56] Aaron: Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Barriers and, and freedom. [00:57:00] Interrelated.

[00:57:01] Aaron: Yeah,

[00:57:01] Lee: that’s right. It all it all it all. If you make the purpose less, the barriers are less. The freedom is less. If you think the purpose bigger, the barriers are bigger, but the freedom is bigger at the same time. And immediately.

[00:57:11] Brad: Yeah.

[00:57:11] Lee: Immediately. That’s right. Oh man. So, so here’s the question. That’s a really simple way to think with this.

[00:57:16] Lee: Okay. Who do the greatest athletes want to play against?

[00:57:21] Brad: The other greatest team,

[00:57:22] Lee: the other greatest athletes. But that seems like it would make no, no sense, because that would be the hardest thing to do. But actually that’s what they want because it is the hardest thing to do. That means the barrier is bigger, which means they do experience more of their purpose, right?

[00:57:36] Lee: Yes. Which means also they experience this freedom that has to do with them as an individual. Mm-hmm. And they rise to greater heights under that pressure.

[00:57:45] Brad: Mm-hmm.

[00:57:46] Lee: What do all the guys miss when there’s no more game left? Right? Like they miss the game. Mm-hmm. They miss the competition. They miss being in there with the guys and all of this stuff.

[00:57:53] Brad: What they call the good old days.

[00:57:55] Lee: The good old days. Yeah.

[00:57:57] Brad: Right.

[00:57:57] Lee: Yeah, totally. Yeah, totally. Yeah. So [00:58:00] I, I, uh, uh, had a friend send me this reference, um, sometime a little past 12 years ago. Um, and in this reference, in that lecture just after it, Ron makes the statement that you’re gonna have to come up with enough examples of this to satisfy yourself that a relationship does exist like this, because it looks absolutely mad.

[00:58:23] Lee: Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It says it looks absolutely mad. Um, so I did it. I just kept coming up with examples in life of when this was this way, and I went, oh my God, it’s always this way. Oh my God. From that moment till now, when I started to apply that along with, I went into the church and I took four introductory courses together.

[00:58:45] Lee: Mm-hmm. Now I’ve been in Scientology a while, but I took these four introductory courses together called Formulas for Living.

[00:58:51] Mm-hmm. Amazing

[00:58:52] Lee: formulas for a living, and then there’s three on finances. Yep. So I took those in order. 50, [00:59:00] 60 bucks each one of these, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah. I now have a 12 year affluence trend with a 300 define.

[00:59:07] Lee: Okay. Sorry.

[00:59:07] Brad: Yeah.

[00:59:08] Lee: That means my finance stats for 12 years have gone like this, and from that point down there to now 353% increase.

[00:59:17] Brad: Wow.

[00:59:20] Lee: Uh,

[00:59:20] Brad: that’s pretty good.

[00:59:21] Lee: It’s pretty good, bro. Yeah. It has changed my life. Um, it’s great to have money because it’s a beautiful tool

[00:59:28] Brad: mm-hmm.

[00:59:28] Lee: To help arrange your life more effortlessly.

[00:59:31] Lee: Yep. Right. But I’ve also been able to donate over a million dollars to our church Wow. And to all of the world betterment campaigns that our church puts out there. Thanks, bro. Um, so that, that really, so that’s, that’s part of my life expansion. Um, I’ve been able to use the tools on administration that Ron developed to build the company in a way that it doesn’t eat my time that I’m able to, I now travel around [01:00:00] the world and I get to speak at our churches all over the place.

[01:00:02] Lee: Mm-hmm. Uh, I’m about to go to Budapest. Budapest.

[01:00:05] Aaron: Wow.

[01:00:05] Lee: Yeah, bud. Budapest.

[01:00:06] Aaron: Budapest

[01:00:08] Lee: and then London, and then Milano. Um, it’s, I get to go around and help people understand things about Ron’s discoveries, bro, to create that effect. Let’s, let’s, let’s just, let’s just look at these things. All right. So here I am, a strip and I’m going out on stage and I am completely out of my mind on drugs.

[01:00:34] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[01:00:35] Lee: Alcohol, and I’m just creating the effect of body lust.

[01:00:40] Aaron: Can I say one more thing on that?

[01:00:41] Lee: Yeah.

[01:00:42] Aaron: You also are fully replaceable with any other body.

[01:00:47] Lee: Oh, totally.

[01:00:48] Aaron: You totally, you just put another body right there. I mean, it’s very replaceable. I just have to say like, I think, I think value comes from what uniqueness you bring.

[01:00:58] Brad: Yes. Oh, dude, you’re replaceable with an [01:01:00] animatronic

[01:01:00] Aaron: robot. You’re, you’re it That’s true at

[01:01:01] Brad: this point.

[01:01:02] Aaron: That’s true as well. That is true as well, unfortunately,

[01:01:04] Lee: I to study my moves, that’s some good moves.

[01:01:05] Aaron: Yeah, yeah. But yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:01:08] Lee: But I’m creating that effect. Right. And then I am ending up in a hotel room with women.

[01:01:15] Aaron: Yep.

[01:01:16] Lee: And, and, and then I’m ending the night, uh, in the middle of the night, the next morning, feeling like total dog, literally getting up and looking in the mirror and asking myself verbally, what the fuck is wrong with you, man?

[01:01:31] Brad: Wow.

[01:01:32] Lee: Why can’t you get your shit together? Mm-hmm. That’s the effect that I’m creating on myself, on these women.

[01:01:39] Lee: I’m leaving my wife at home. I’m creating this effect on her. What a piece of trash I was. Mm-hmm.

[01:01:45] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[01:01:45] Lee: Now. Now I get to go around and I get to help people understand things about their spirituality, about how life can be better for them. I get to hear the stories immediately [01:02:00] after many years after about how their lives have changed.

[01:02:03] Lee: Mm-hmm. The impact that I get to create on them, the impact I got to create when I was there with my brother passing even in helping him ’cause I knew he wasn’t a body. Mm-hmm. And being able to get in communication with him as a spiritual being and help him through it. Mm-hmm. Not to mention my dad and my mom and everybody else.

[01:02:20] Lee: Right. What I’m able to do with my wife now, my wife has 0, 0, 0 doubts about whether or not I’m gonna be faithful to her. Mm-hmm.

[01:02:31] Mm-hmm.

[01:02:32] Lee: She does not worry for a moment. ’cause she knows I am who I am now. Mm-hmm. I am. What she saw back then when her friends were like, you need to drop this bum. And they were right.

[01:02:44] Lee: They were right. Yeah. And she, her response would be, yeah, but it’s not him. I have the moments when I see him, what he’s doing. I don’t know what that is. It’s not him. She knows now. ’cause she knows all about the reactive mind.

[01:02:58] Aaron: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:02:59] Lee: But [01:03:00] she was perceptive enough, at least in the beginning to go, that’s not him.

[01:03:03] Aaron: Now there’s something magical about women, I have to say. Oh.

[01:03:05] For

[01:03:05] Lee: a

[01:03:06] Aaron: hundred percent. That, that see through all of our like garbage. Yeah. And can see the guy, you know, and see cc us and I mean, I think all three of us have experienced this. Um, which is like, how did, how did they see through all that? Through those layers and layers and layers.

[01:03:26] Aaron: Dude, you know,

[01:03:26] Lee: layers,

[01:03:27] Aaron: bro. But it takes, it takes that other person to see you and, and bring you.

[01:03:32] Lee: It does.

[01:03:33] Aaron: So well done. To your wife. Yeah.

[01:03:35] Lee: Well done to her. She rescued me, man. Truly, like during those times, if she’s not there, she was the stable point for me. Right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Uh, um, actually on the inside of her wedding band, I had engraved, you Are My Oak.

[01:03:48] Lee: Uh, wow. ’cause, and I wrote her this thing on that there, it was this storm that would grab me and would just take me off on this tear of self-destruction and all of this stuff. But I knew that no matter [01:04:00] how much the storm blew, that she was always there.

[01:04:02] Brad: Wow.

[01:04:03] Lee: And I could come back to that and she, she, I owe her this life.

[01:04:06] Lee: Truly. I don’t know what would’ve happened to me without her. Right. Do I, do I have the opportunity to finally find Scientology and then be able to apply those tools to get rid of the storm, because I’m the creator of it.

[01:04:19] Brad: Yeah. Yeah.

[01:04:20] Lee: Right.

[01:04:20] Brad: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[01:04:21] Lee: I’m the one that’s creating this storm. Through my reactive mind.

[01:04:24] Lee: Mm-hmm. Right. But I’m the one that’s responsible for all of this stuff. Yep. Now I’ve been responsible enough to not have one anymore and be able to just be myself, which is, um, business wise, family wise, uh, groups wise, uh, the impacts that I get to create there. Becoming a bestselling author, getting to travel around the world and have an impact on people.

[01:04:49] Lee: Honestly, it’s an honor. Um, to get, to live my true self is what I’m doing now, and I’m finding, I, I certainly would not put any of the, you know, going back to the [01:05:00] quote from Christ, even the least among You Shall do all that I have done and even greater things. I’m certainly not saying I’m doing anything like that, but I would say if you were to contrast what I was doing before with what I’m doing now, it certainly is a lot more en

[01:05:13] Aaron: route.

[01:05:13] Aaron: And it’s en route. I mean,

[01:05:15] Lee: its, it’s en route

[01:05:15] Aaron: in the right direction.

[01:05:16] Lee: It’s in, it’s in right direction toward, and it’s a lot more Christ-like.

[01:05:21] Brad: Mm-hmm.

[01:05:21] Lee: Than what I ever was before.

[01:05:23] Brad: Aaron said something really profound to me not too long ago. He taught, he said, uh, a slightly up trending graph, no matter how slightly taken over a long enough period of time can be to the stars.

[01:05:35] Lee: Yeah,

[01:05:35] Brad: yeah,

[01:05:36] Lee: that’s true.

[01:05:36] Brad: Yeah.

[01:05:36] Aaron: That direction.

[01:05:37] Lee: That’s right. The

[01:05:38] Brad: little just, just slightly

[01:05:40] Lee: up. Yeah.

[01:05:40] Brad: That’s even slightly up. A long, a long enough timeframe.

[01:05:43] Lee: Just be a little more Right today than you were yesterday. Right. Just a little more each week, you know, you fall down, get back up and be a little more right again.

[01:05:51] Lee: Yeah. It’s awesome.

[01:05:54] Aaron: Can, can we, uh, talk a little bit about, so you have three children. Yeah. And, and so you, you talked about how when you [01:06:00] had your, your, your first son or your only son

[01:06:02] Lee: mm-hmm.

[01:06:02] Aaron: Um, how he really changed you

[01:06:05] Lee: Yeah.

[01:06:05] Aaron: How he changed you and, and I, I experienced something similar with my daughter and, and I think each child brings something different.

[01:06:13] Lee: Absolutely.

[01:06:14] Aaron: No question. Um, how, how was it ’cause, ’cause I, you know, you started part of the, the, the, your transformation or your, your, your journey, um, which is not over, but, uh,

[01:06:24] Lee: no, it is not.

[01:06:25] Aaron: But with your first son. Yeah. And how was it then successfully? Like what, what have you seen in, in, and did you decide to have all your children or your further children, I guess?

[01:06:35] Lee: Uh, no. So, uh, um, yeah, he, the first, he was on purpose. The last, no, sorry, he was an accident. Yeah. The last was an accident. Only the one in the middle was on purpose. Okay. Okay. Okay. But, but, uh, uh, yeah, let talk about, so that’s where the transformation started. And then with each one of

[01:06:53] Aaron: the, and by the way, accident is a, it’s a funny word.

[01:06:56] Lee: Yeah.

[01:06:58] Aaron: Because sometimes [01:07:00] the accident was never an accident.

[01:07:03] Lee: Oh, no, it was totally divine, bro.

[01:07:05] Aaron: But, but, but really? Yeah. I didn’t know if that was a, that was a, a dude joke or not. I wasn’t sure. I wasn’t sure.

[01:07:16] Both totally divine bro.

[01:07:18] Lee: Okay. Okay. No. Um, um, so my son, um, was very, well, let, let me take you through the journey with him, um, because Scientology has really worked for him as well.

[01:07:33] Lee: Mm-hmm. Right. And, uh, he actually works at the church Oh, wow. In Los Angeles. Um, he, he’s amazing. But very, very early on when I was going to the celebrity center, um, we had taken the kids up there and we had observed, you know, how they were in the space and, you know, and they seemed so happy and carefree.

[01:07:56] Lee: And, and I had been, uh, studying, doing some [01:08:00] courses. Uh, did some introductory auditing. I think it was probably a year and a half in. And I went, I distinctly remember I climbed up, he was about eight, nine years old, and I climbed up on his bunk bed. He shared, uh, with his younger sibling. And I was up there and, um, I said, uh, so there’s two questions that I asked him.

[01:08:25] Lee: I said, uh, one, what do you, what do you, what do you think about being up there at the church? He said, oh, I like it. I like it. I said, well, um, how do you feel when you’re there? And he goes, what do you mean? I said, well, you know, when you walk into, um, and to some place, you know, you, maybe you feel like it’s kind of scary, or Ooh, you walk into some other place like Chuck E.

[01:08:47] Lee: Cheese, you know, at the time, and you get really happy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I said, so what do you, what do you, what do you get when you’re up there? And he sits there for a second and he goes, I feel safe. Wow. He said, [01:09:00] I feel safe. That’s what I went Wow. For a kid, that’s everything.

[01:09:05] Mm-hmm.

[01:09:05] Lee: So I was like, I mean, I was clocking like at the time I did, I wasn’t a Scientologist.

[01:09:09] Lee: Yeah, yeah. I was just doing some courses. I’m checking it out. I’m going, what is this? Right. So go. Okay. That’s awesome buddy. Uh, so, you know, I’ve been doing this for a while. What do, what do you think about me and, uh, have you noticed any changing changes or anything? And he kind of drops his head a little bash for,

[01:09:29] Lee: oh my God. And I goes, okay, you can tell me. You can tell me. Oh man. He says, um, well, you’re a lot nicer now.

[01:09:46] Lee: And oh man,

[01:09:51] Lee: you’re a lot nicer now and you’re better at explaining things.

[01:09:56] Aaron: Wow.

[01:09:58] Lee: That was actually my, [01:10:00] okay, I’m in.

[01:10:01] Aaron: Wow.

[01:10:02] Lee: If my doing this, if this space has this kind of effect on my son, and if my doing this can make me a better father to my son.

[01:10:10] Aaron: Mm-hmm.

[01:10:12] Lee: I, I’m in, what else can I give me? What else can I get? Yeah.

[01:10:16] Brad: Yeah.

[01:10:17] Aaron: Wow.

[01:10:18] Brad: That’s amazing.

[01:10:18] Lee: Yeah. Yeah.

[01:10:19] Brad: You know, I have to say, your son is so much more polite than, than our kids are.

[01:10:24] Than whose

[01:10:24] Brad: kids

[01:10:25] are? Than my

[01:10:25] Aaron: own. Oh, my two old. No, no, no, dude. Nine years old. Dude, you’re, you’re, you’re in the baby. How old is your old, your oldest?

[01:10:31] Brad: Three and a half.

[01:10:32] Aaron: Yeah. Dude, come on. No, no, no, no, no.

[01:10:33] Aaron: Dude, she’s, no, no, no, no. This kid, sorry. A three and a half year old, bro.

[01:10:36] Brad: This kid is not gonna be polite. She’s gonna be like, no filter. You’re a jerk.

[01:10:40] Aaron: But then if you, but, but if you had become great and what I’m just saying, I, I, I think you just need. Just stick with it at three and a half year old, dude.

[01:10:49] Aaron: It, it, it’s, it’s not the right time. You can’t compare, you can’t compare a 3-year-old to a 9-year-old. You just can’t do that.

[01:10:55] Brad: I

[01:10:55] Aaron: have yet to

[01:10:57] Lee: Yeah. Correct. Yet to, yeah. Yeah. The filter comes in later. [01:11:00] Yeah. That, that moment of, of Bashfulness before I save this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lemme see if I can find a nice way to say it.

[01:11:06] Lee: That comes later.

[01:11:06] Aaron: Yeah. Yeah. Not at three. Not at three. Brad. Not

[01:11:09] Brad: at three. I

[01:11:10] Aaron: love that. Um,

[01:11:11] Lee: uh, yeah. That’s

[01:11:12] Aaron: something incredible.

[01:11:13] Lee: Yeah. Thank you.

[01:11:15] Brad: Okay, Lee, uh, there’s a question we ask every guest.

[01:11:17] Lee: Yes.

[01:11:18] Brad: In your own words, what is Scientology

[01:11:24] Lee: to me, uh, it is spiritual, mental, and life technology. That one applies to any of those areas.

[01:11:37] Lee: To make those areas exactly as they would like them to be. Wow. Yeah, it’s pretty cool.

[01:11:45] Brad: Sounds pretty good.

[01:11:47] Lee: It’s pretty freaking cool, man.

[01:11:50] Brad: Man, I have to say, it’s really, you know, I mean obviously like I am a Scientologist, I’m on course almost every day, you know? But it’s so interesting to hear [01:12:00] your, your journey and just hear it from how different your life is now and really get the reality.

[01:12:07] Lee: Yeah.

[01:12:07] Brad: Because I’ve heard a little bit about you from mutual friends. All good.

[01:12:11] Lee: Okay, good. Yeah. Yeah. Now everybody knows the whole story. I was nervous to come on this stage. I saw the Tom one and I was like, oh my God, I gotta tell him the truth. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. If Tom is gonna bear that much, I guess I will too.

[01:12:25] Brad: Yeah. But bro, it’s so, uh, it’s just like so ins it’s inspiring, like in a new unit of time, you know? Yeah. It’s like very reinvigorating to hear like what it, like, just the change that it’s made in your life.

[01:12:39] Lee: Yeah.

[01:12:40] Brad: And, and what’s crazy is I like, I talk to Aaron about this all the time. It’s like every time we get to hear someone’s story, even if they’re like, oh, my story’s not that interesting.

[01:12:49] Brad: It’s like they don’t even realize.

[01:12:51] Lee: Yeah.

[01:12:52] Brad: Sometimes we forget where we started.

[01:12:56] Lee: Yeah.

[01:12:56] Brad: Because we’re just doing our life. We’re just doing our life. It’s so hard to, [01:13:00] you know, it can be really easy to forget where you started.

[01:13:02] Lee: Yeah, yeah.

[01:13:03] Brad: You know?

[01:13:04] Lee: Yeah.

[01:13:04] Brad: So thank you for bringing us all the way back to that. I think it’s incredibly impactful.

[01:13:08] Lee: Totally, man. Um, it’s actually been, uh, uh, good for me for that reason because I don’t think about this stuff anymore. I’m in my life now. I’m creating. Uh, all the, the beautiful things I wanted to create. Uh, I’ve still got more to go. I’ve still got more growing to do. I got, I, I can still be better in areas I’m working at that, but to take this contrast, be

[01:13:31] Brad: better at explaining things,

[01:13:32] Lee: what’s, what’s that better at?

[01:13:36] Lee: Yeah. Right. Um, to take that, that, that, uh, juxtaposition and see how far that journey is. It is really, really freaking amazing. You know, I’ll say this last, uh, uh, maybe it’s the last thing, but it, it’s something I definitely wanna say about this, my own spiritual journey, um, from all of the searching and all the [01:14:00] reading and all the looking and all of the, uh, trying to find these answers.

[01:14:05] Lee: You know, there was, um, the El Ron Hubbard Life exhibit in Los Angeles. I would go through that and I would take people when I was out there that were interested. Knowing about Scientology, the first thing is I would take him there. ’cause I would be like, you need to know about this guy. Mm. Right? Mm-hmm.

[01:14:22] Lee: And what was his approach to this and how did he come, uh, uh, about these discoveries? Right. And there was this, uh, lecture and I’m sorry, I don’t remember where it was from. It was something they would play there, I’d hear at the end where he talked about standing on the shoulders of all of the spiritual teachers and philosophers that had come before him, right?

[01:14:42] Lee: Yes. That had given man hope for something better, that society could be better. That there was, that you could be better as an individual. That you could be become more these, these, uh, uh, these spiritual masters, if you want to call it that. This, uh, Jesus [01:15:00] Christ and the other Christ-like figures that showed us what is possible, right?

[01:15:05] Lee: Mm-hmm. Well, in, in that lecture. What I remember from it that, that really stuck with me was him talking about standing on the shoulders of all of that work and that part of what he had done was never possible before that because the technology that was necessary from a scientific understanding was not available.

[01:15:28] Mm-hmm.

[01:15:28] Lee: Before he was, uh, fortunate enough to be, uh, in a living during the time that technological advances came along. Mm-hmm. To where an e-meter actually could be made.

[01:15:42] Aaron: Yeah.

[01:15:43] Lee: To where it could be tested and proven that a spiritual being is something separate from your body Yeah. That you,

[01:15:49] to

[01:15:50] Aaron: where you can record a lecture, even that

[01:15:52] Lee: Right.

[01:15:53] Aaron: True hearing, hearing the voice of the founder.

[01:15:55] Lee: Yeah.

[01:15:56] Aaron: Because the, the voice, the direct, I mean, that was, that’s only been [01:16:00] possible like this century. Yeah. You know, like in the last century before that. There was no, uh, how do you, how do you hear it? You know that even that too.

[01:16:08] Lee: Totally. And it’s, it’s, it’s a great point and a great part of it because you can go on the journey that Ron went on

[01:16:14] Aaron: mm-hmm.

[01:16:14] Lee: Which is a scientific discovery journey. Right. And as I have gone on that, what has happened for me is all of these beautiful truths that I found in my Christian beliefs mm-hmm. That I found in, uh, the Baha Gita that I, you know, I have Sanskrit on my arm here. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Mm-hmm. But when, when all of these, what

[01:16:36] Aaron: does it say?

[01:16:37] Lee: This says whole track warrior.

[01:16:40] Aaron: Are you serious?

[01:16:41] Lee: Yes.

[01:16:41] Aaron: Okay. Okay. Okay.

[01:16:42] Lee: So it has to do with, uh, uh, you know, a look at, uh, uh, in Scientology teachings, the, the entire track of your existence as a spiritual being uhhuh and being a spiritual warrior. That’s what was my intention. Haven’t always pulled it off.

[01:16:57] Lee: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. But that was my intention, [01:17:00] but. As I’ve done this study, what I’ve found is all of these pieces that made sense to me, even in conversations with God, the stuff that made sense for me from Deepak Chopra, the stuff that made sense for me in all of these different teachings and all different places, I couldn’t put them together.

[01:17:16] Aaron: Mm.

[01:17:16] Lee: And I couldn’t put them together in a way that was, okay, do this, do this, do this. You get this result. Mm-hmm. The prayer my wife made, right?

[01:17:25] Aaron: Yeah. Yep. Yeah.

[01:17:26] Lee: Until I went on this journey with Ron of his discoveries, and these discoveries lay out to go, oh, well that piece goes there. That piece goes there.

[01:17:37] Lee: That piece goes in and all fits the Oh, okay. I see how it all fits. And by the way, some of these pieces have missing their holes. Mm-hmm. But because of the scientific evolution, he’s able to fill the holes. Yeah.

[01:17:48] Mm-hmm.

[01:17:49] Lee: There’s no gaps right. In my, in, in my knowledge, my understanding. And then therefore, there’s no gaps in my understanding of life.

[01:17:58] Lee: It’s there in the research man. [01:18:00] I can go study it, I can then apply it in my life and I can be responsible. I can go back to that KRC triangle, right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Knowledge, responsibility, control. I just increase my knowledge in that area. I take responsibility for it, and then I have more control in that area.

[01:18:15] Lee: Mm-hmm. And that means I can create the good effect that I want to create. And that’s priceless. Come on.

[01:18:23] Aaron: Woo.

[01:18:23] Lee: Amazing.

[01:18:24] Aaron: Hello so much.

[01:18:24] Lee: Amen. Hallelujah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Woo.

[01:18:29] Aaron: Incredible.

[01:18:31] Brad: Good.

[01:18:32] Aaron: Lee, thank you for being so animated and such a great example of enthusiastic attack on life to make it brilliant, being a fantastic father.

[01:18:44] Aaron: And I want to just wrap up with,

[01:18:49] Aaron: if you go back to when you first had your son and that guy is able to look at the man you are today. [01:19:00] What would he be experiencing? What he be feeling with what he’s become?

[01:19:10] Lee: That’s a deep question, bro. That’s a great question. Honestly, if I went back there, I, I, I, I couldn’t have imagined,

[01:19:28] Lee: I couldn’t have imagined my life turning out this good. I, I, I didn’t, I didn’t know that this level was possible.

[01:19:35] Mm-hmm.

[01:19:36] Lee: Um, of, honestly, I, I, I think it’s, it’s this being able to see myself the way perhaps God might see me. Um, you know, if I go back to my son, how did I see him? Perfection. Mm-hmm. Each of my kids, right?

[01:19:56] Lee: I don’t wanna just focus on just my son, each of my kids, of course, [01:20:00] MG, um, perfection.

[01:20:03] Mm-hmm.

[01:20:03] Lee: When I see them, I, I see, I see the good, I see what’s possible. Um, so that I could become the, the person that I am now, um, operating with integrity, effortlessly operating, uh, with care and kindness effortlessly. Not all the time, not Yeah,

[01:20:30] Brad: yeah, yeah, yeah.

[01:20:30] Brad: Totally.

[01:20:31] Lee: But, uh, um, yeah, I mean, how, how fortunate am I? How lucky am I that, uh, all of these, you know, God moments, if you want to call it that, these miracles along the way of that it is Athena there. That Athena is the one that talks to me about where my interest level is. Right. Um, and to each of the ones that I’ve met along the way that have inspired me to keep growing.[01:21:00]

[01:21:00] Lee: Tom Cummins is a big inspiration. Mm-hmm. Watching what that guy’s come from to where he is at now. I mean, I could go on and on about this. Um, I, I just feel so privileged. I feel so lucky, uh, that we have these churches, that we have these people that work there that dedicate themselves to like my son to, to be there all the time.

[01:21:21] Mm-hmm.

[01:21:22] Lee: Because they just see a way to make the world a better place. They see the impact it has on every individual. I’m not unique.

[01:21:29] Mm-hmm.

[01:21:30] Lee: This is not a unique experience. Everyone who comes through and does this honestly and truly, and really is trying to improve themself mm-hmm. Does every single one.

[01:21:40] Lee: Yeah. There’s no exceptions. You know, I, I, I, I, yeah. I, I think, uh. Privileged. Lucky, uh, grateful, and I’m having one hell of a time.

[01:21:55] Aaron: Amazing. Amazing,

[01:21:59] Aaron: bro. [01:22:00] Amazing brother.

[01:22:01] Lee: Uh, thanks guys.

[01:22:02] Aaron: Thank you so much for coming on. I remember everybody, don’t do nothing.

[01:22:06] Lee: Don’t do nothing. Come on peace. See y’all.
